Gas/Fast food restaurant station-Good or Bad?

In todays world companies are merging and combining forces to get the all mighty dollar. From the KFC/Taco bell combo chain, to the ToGo's/DunkinDonuts/BaskinRobbins trifecta, Wal-Mart/Kmart/Target super chainstores (where they sell groceries). What do you think about the current trend of Gas stations that also serve fast food such as Dunkin donuts/Krispy Creme/Subway/Blimpie/Wendy's etc?

That's funny, as Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Creme, Subway and Blimpie always give me gas regardless.

Well, I don't know, but the <a href="http://www.thesierraweb.com/tiogagasmart/">Mobil station</a> in Lee Vining is GOOD

It has hands down the best fish tacos I have ever had anywhere.

It also has a trapeze out front. I go out of my way to go there when I drive to CA - or anywhere near the vicinity of Yosemite, period.

for some reason I would rather go to a "stand-alone" sub-shop or burger-shop... when traveling i usually just go into a gas station/conveniance store for coffee or a snack, like cornnuts, but not food like sandwiches or such...

it's this little phobia i have that some greasyhand mechanic is slapping my burger around or getting smudges on my bologna...

something i need to get over...

its a good idea in theory, but like others have said cleanliness must be an issue here, the fast food places themselves arent the cleanest in the world but mix that with auto grime and it can potentially be very nasty. my advice, make sure you have all of your hepititis vaccines before eating at these places.
