Hey buddays... I am completely blown away by this problem. I dont know anyway to fix it. First let me explain the circumstances.
I have a win2k computer network setup.
I am a "power user" (I have admin controls)
And everyone else but my dad is a "user"

Now, here's my delemia.
Everyone who is a "user" constantly gets an error when accessing Internet Explorer. This message is somthing like:
"Internet Explorer has experience a C++ runtime error."
Then it says somthing like "contact microsoft for more info".

Now, I've tryed everything for this. Reinstallation of IE, bug fixes, ect.
Note: Since I am a "Power User", I can access IE.
So, there must be a bug in my network.

Of course, my whole family is blaming ME for this problem. That's what I get for spending countless hours fixing their computer problems. According to my family, it must be somthing I downladed. Last thing I downloaded before the problem was Live365. I keep telling them how come it doesnt affect ME????

OK, so I just need an answer for this problem. Then I can prove those assholes wrong.

It's a weird one. I'd say, take note of the exact error (the exact wording, that is) and go to the Microsoft Knowledgebase (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;KBHOWTO).

FTL has good advice. The MS knowledge base contains fixes for lots of weird windows stuff.

Does win 2k have a system restore feature? If so, try restoring to a month or two ago (you can always undo the installation) when the problem definitely wasn't present and see if it's resolved. If it is, than restore to progressively later points until you find the latest restore point where everything worked fine.

If the problem remains, and there is no information in the MS knowledge base you might consider paying a one time fee to an ms phone tech and getting assistance straight from the people who brought you the problem.

try changing the "users" setting to "power setting" and see if they can use IE, maybe as a temporary fix til you get a clear answer... if it works keep them as "power" users, they probably would not know how to hurt anything...

What version of IE are you using? I believe 6 allows you turn on and off C++ and other applications. Though I also think that Funkman is right in that you may need to make the others Power Users or Admins so you can change their options. If you have a main user for the sysem such as Administrator I believe it will enable you to make global changes for all users though.

FTL is correct as well, make a note of the error message itself and try it in MS's knowledgebase. Also put the error message here and I'll see if I can figure it out as well, but let me know which version of IE you're using.

You have too little faith in the ability of the average computer user to mess things up.
