I've always hated him. I have a strong feeling that he is going to be a big time, overpaid bust for them.

I would've loved to have seen him go to the Rangers. So he could be another bust over there.

The Ducks are going to tank just like Carolina, Buffalo and Washington did with or without Federov.

The Ducks do need him, especially in terms of fans and attendance. And actually he is a good fit for the defensive system that Babcock and the Ducks use. Without a big replacement for Kariya, they risked a big loss in attendance due to the fans being disgruntled. He won't flop in California, yet the Ducks will be hard pressed to repeat last years success. Good move on their part. If you don't think so, post who you think they should have gone after at this point. This is simply the move they wanted and the last big name left. He will work hard to make the Wings look stupid and bad on this loss.

he signed with the ducks because only two of his years are guaranteed and the other three are options that he could pick up. so after the CBA expires he could test the free agent market and if hes not gettin more money or just wants to go to another team he can

Since Kariya left, they need a main man. At least he stayed in the west, it seems so weird when guys go from different conferences.
