I didn't know which forum this fit in. Anyone hear this news? I thought he was still cool with infinity broadcasting.

From DCRTV:

Coleman To Sirius - 7/22 - Jeremy Coleman, former program director at WJFK-FM, becomes VP of "talk, information, and entertainment" at NYC-based Sirius Satellite Radio. Not all that long ago, Coleman moved to NYC (with former JFK-FM suit Ken Stevens) in a failed attempt to build an FM talk station based on some guys named Opie and Anthony.....

I REFUSE to EVER pay money to listen to the radio. If it comes down to it, I will just have to listen to O&A via S.U.
...Now that I think about it, I've basically stopped using my radio.

being that O & A were seen leaving Sirius a couple times, and now he is head of talk and entertainment, i thik this is a good thing for O & A if they want satalite radio. coleman may not have liked them, but he knows the numbers they will bring in, shit ill get it if they go on there

I know it's too early to talk and this is extreme speculation at this point, so I will preface my argument with that being said:

IF O&A ended up on Sirius Radio...

Buying A Sattelite Radio vs. S.U.

Those of you out there who listen to Ron & Fez via "90-foot antenna" (you know who you are) know full well that S.U. has one MAJOR, and a few minor, disadvantages over listening to the show on the radio. That major one being that you must BE HOME and ON THE INTERNET to listen. No more listening live in the car or on your walkman or on your porch, on the job, etc. Had the show been on local radio, it'd be accessable ANYWHERE as long as you had your $8 FM receiver handy.
(The minor drawbacks include things like a couple extra minutes delay and grainier sound due to compression.)

Now think about this: Satellite radio... You PAY for it. A single unit in your home will cost you at least $90, plus you'll be paying a monthly fee of $12.95 for 100 radio stations, 3 or 4 of which you will realistically listen to. There is no Sirius walkman. The only way to get Sirius outside your home is to go to a car dealership and have the proper hardware installed, which is also gonna cost ya. So ultimately, you're finding yourself on house arrest if you wanna listen to O&A, like NYC R&F fans are today... only now you're paying for it. So you're left with a choice - Stay at home and listen to it on sattelite radio, or stay at home and listen to a stream of it somewhere on the internet. Not much of a choice if you ask me.

Personally from my experience with satellite radio, I like it. I don't have it yet myself, but from what I've heard from XM, I'm very impressed.

XM works in your car, in your stereo at home, plus I now see XM PCR for the PC as well. The quality, the $election, and the very little commercials I've heard are all pretty tempting for me to get it. I can understand your point about not wanting to pay for radio, but there are advantages to it as well that take it beyond traditional radio broadcasting.
