Tour De France

The Tour de France is won by TIME, not who crosses the line first. There are 20 stages lasting for a period of 3 weeks. Each day the riders ride AT LEAST 100 miles, sometimes more, some are flat stages some are very grueling mountain stages. Different riders can win each stage, but it is the rider that has done the whole entire tour in the least amount of time that eventually wins the yellow jersey. ie.... Lance Armstrong attained the jersey and kept it from that day until he rode the last day because he was riding the tour the fastest.

You guys are not taking calls right now, it is much easier to explain on the phone or in person. Regardless, Lance Armstrong has now joined the very elite few who have won the tour 5 times. He is only the 2nd to win five CONSECUTIVE. Also, he will be back next year.

In '98 were'nt some of the stages in Ireland? So why was it still called the Tour De France. Either Tyler Hamilton or that kraut Ulrich will win next year.
