View Full Version : When is the last time you ate Captain Crunch?

For me, it was when I was in college, probably my senior year 1987. You would be amazed at the number of people eating Captain Crunch for breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the Commons.
That cafteria was like Xanadu if you were into junk food. There was always an abundance of cheeseburgers, cheese fries, ribs, chicken, pizza, not to mention ice cream, pies, pudding, cheesecake...all you can eat.
I'm amazed that I didn't blob up until after I graduated. I'm trying to lose some weight now, but I'm not going on some wacky diet that I can't keep for more than a month. For now, I'm just eliminating snacks and exercising more. I figure if I can average weight loss of a pound a week, I'll be in much better shape by the end of the year.

I just bought some in march. I was really sick from percocet and was not eating for months. It was the only thing I could eat. I had a discectomy in april and had no appetite for 4 months. Thank God for Captian Crunch and chocolate milk!

my best guess would be approx 25 years ago(with milk) although about 5 or so years back somebody said you can crunch it up and use it to coat chicken before baking, i'd have to say it came out pretty damn good...

You are correct. In fact, I can remember eating the regular crunch first, and then the crunchberries.
I also remember a prehistoric cereal called King Vitamin, which was very similar to Cap'n Crunch. I have to do a search on that ; I wonder if it still exists.

I agree that Cap'n Cruch peanut butter is the shiznitz. Remember Frankenberry, BooBerry and Count Chocula? I use to love Golden Grahms! The worst was Kix. I used to also like Frosted Mini Wheats with coffee mixed with the milk! Soooo goood

About a month ago. That's what happens when you have a kid.
BTW, it makes a good topping for ice cream.

I remember that stuff. I don't think I've seen it since the mid-70s, though.

I wasn't given sugary cereals as a child either. It was all Corn Flakes, Rice Crispies and Shredded Wheat as a kid.
I don't ever remember eating the shit either. It looks messed up and gee.

I had some just this morning, I swear.
The only difference between now and when I was a kid, is I use soy milk in cereal now. The older I get the more lactose intolerant I get and if I'm gonna get the squirts it's going to be for something worthwhile, like a sundae.
dammit.

I don't think I've ever had Cap'n Crunch on it's own, I always liked Cap'n Crunch Crunch Berries best. As for Crunch Berries, I haven't had it in about a year.

You ever see the generic cerial brands or store name brands that mimic these cereal's? Like the "Stop and Shop Super Sugared Puffed Rice-ee Oh's" or something? It has these fake Tony the Tiger charicters. Who would win in a fight? Tony the Tiger or the Exxon Tiger? Are they related?

I'm a fan of the Captain Crunch Peanut Butter cereal. I dug the Crunchberries, but I could do without the original cereal reducing my mouth to shreds.

Tony the Tiger will win in a fight. Do you see how buff that tiger got in a few years??
Anyway, I remember King Vitamin. It was good, but The Cap'n kicks his ass!!
Now who will win in a 3 way dance: Tony the tiger, the EXXON tiger, or Tigger the tiger?
