As a few of you know, I've been awaiting my promotion for some time now, but had been passed over twice due to educational requirements. I finished my schooling last month, and expected to be promoted by the end of the year. Well, today, the order came down that I am to report to 1PP on Friday in full dress uniform for my promotion ceremony! What sucks is that my family, all of whom live out of state, will be unable to make it. My mom says she's gonna try, but she's elderly and I dont think she'll be there. Usually, the ceremony happens after a 5 week training course, and I had told my family that theyd therefore have 5 weeks to make plans to come up. But for some reason, the department is reversing things and promoting us prior to the training. No biggie really, since my family still wants to get together eventually and celebrate it, but a few are upset that they cant make the big deal ceremony (Usually the mayor and commisioner attend). So I'm experiencing both feelings of happiness and disappointment. All in all it's a very good thing. And I think I'll keep my ChrisTheCop tag...ChrisTheSergeant just doesnt roll of the tongue as well. ;p

It was a cool little ceremony. The mayor wasnt there, so I was unable to fulfill the requests above pertaining to him (he was in PR or somewhere). Everyone in my family has regular cameras (no digitals) so I'll have to wait awhile before I post a pic, if ever. Anywho... THANKS to all of you above, and those who sent emails (especially Aggie, Fuzzy, and Quinny, L&M too!!!). Getting this promotion is like getting a totally new job, or even going to a new school. Thanks again for your support--it means alot.
