I feel the same way Ron seems to feel about this movie. I kinda want to see it because it looks so bad. I looked at IMDB and found the cast list: Click here to see it (http://us.imdb.com/Credits?0299930) More than HALF the cast are "Beach Dancers" Does JLo slip into a Bikini? Is it really Turkey Time?
Oh and "Baby Got Back" is on the soundtrack. Will JLo Back that Ass up?

From the early previews, this movie is gonna be worse than "Ishtar", which makes me happy cause I can't stand J Blow and her freaky ass. Her ass is supposed to be her greatest asset ( pun intended ), and they airbrushed it smaller for the movie poster. She's got no real talent, and she's not that hot looking either.........I've seen hotter babes walking in the mall.
I feel bad for Kevin Smith, because the next Ben/J Lo movie is his ( Jersey Girl ), and the critics are gonna be looking to blast them again, and the fall-out from the bad acting will fall on the director.

I'm a huge Kevin Smith/Viewaskew fan. Jersey Girls comes out in Feb, I don't think that will be enough time. I feel very bad for Kevin.
And Jersey Girl isn't really a Ben and Jenifer movie in the same way this one is. Ben has a daughter and ends up with another love intrest (Liv Tyler, I guess Kevin liked them in Armageddon) and I'm sure Miramax will play that up and hardly mention JLo unless Gigli turns out to be a surprise hit. which it won't!
Check out Rodger Ebert's review. 2 1/2 stars for this? Guess it's not THE worst film EVER made, must be a half dozen worse films... (http://www.suntimes.com/output/ebert1/wkp-news-gigli01f.html)

I think this review says it all.
"A recent episode of South Park suggested that a fourth-grader's hand puppet could turn in a better performance than Ms. Lopez, and in the case of Gigli, it's hard to argue."

I'm not sure if she plays a "Jersey Girl" in this movie, but in Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl, she doesn't play the Title Character, it's Ben's Daughter.
Liv Tyler is SOOOO FARKING HOT!!!!!!! How can she look like her Dad yet be so hot? It makes no sense...

To be fair, Ben and Jennifer weren't as annoying while he was casting this movie. This whole mess started about the same time that filming started. And Don't worry JLo dies within 20 mins of the opening credits and it becomes a Ben Affleck/Liv Tyler/some little girl Film. Kevin has always been funny, I'm sure Jersey Girl can withstand a few scenes with Jlo. Hell, Out of Sight is a great film, She was okay in that...

I don't know why I hate J-lo. I just do. I think because she is one of those broads that,as the song goes, has to be everything to everyone. Affleck seems like a good dude, but he has ran out of the credit he had built up from Good Will Hunting and Chasing Amy. Somehow Matt Damon still has his credit intact. I guess it is all about choices and Affleck has made so many bad ones in a row that his career is not fixable.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

I have no doubt "Jersey Girl" will kick ass, even as Smith's first PG-13 film, but I'm sad that'll it'll probably either be bumped back or ignored if "Giggly" bombs. Hopefully Miramax can play down the J-Lo/Affleck angle in the previews and play up the fact the movie has George Carlin AND Stephen Root.
And I don't really have a problem with Affleck. Always loved him in the Smith films, and in all his interviews and commentaries for those films he seems like an honestly funny, nice guy. Dude gets a little scratch/ass going his way, good for him.

This review said it all for me:
"Gigli" makes "Hudson Hawk" look like a hiccup, "Ishtar" like a minor misstep. It's the stuff "Mystery Science Theater 3000s" are made of.
I hate J-Lo I'm indifferent towards Affleck and if they fell in love while filming this piece of shit movie then I think it says VOLUMES about their relationship.

Alright, I got home a little drunk and wobbly on pain pills around 3 AM last night from a friend's house...apparently wonky enough to download this movie to see if it was as bad as everyone says.
It's not.
Don't get me wrong, it's nowhere near being a "good" film and I didn't even watch past the first hour, but this "worst film of the year/decade/century/millenium/ever" talk is horseshit. All this is is a twisted case of the media showing how bi-polar it is. "We LOVE Ben and J-Lo...so we MUST tear them down!!!" Bizarre.

The Ben Affleck (news)-Jennifer Lopez (news) movie "Gigli" debuted dismally following weeks of toxic buzz and near-unanimous critical revulsion. The comedy about a gangster who falls in love with a lesbian rival during a kidnapping earned $3.8 million.
1. "American Wedding," $34.3
2. "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over," $20.1 million
3. "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," $19.1 million.
4. "Seabiscuit," $17.5 million.
5. "Bad Boys II," $12.7 million.
6. "Lara Croft: Tomb raider - The Cradle of Life," $11.3 million.
7. (tie) "Finding Nemo," $3.8 million.
7. (tie) "Gigli," $3.8 million.

I agree, I especially liked him in Boiler Room. He had a small role in it, but he played someone different than his usual generic character that seems to be in a lot of his movies. I did like him Mallrats, Dogma, and Daredevil, but that's about it that I can think of.

According to this thread thus far, I think I can safely say that Ben doesn't seem to be the problem in the Ben & Jen saga. Seems to me that quite a few people liked some of his work a few years ago, which means he's capable of recapturing that type of success again. Jennifer, however, has trouble getting not only *true* acting credit, but singing credit. Well, hell, anyone who gives J.Lo any kind of singing credit needs to be shot.

Out of Sight was good. And Jennifer seemed good in that. Jennifer should be giving Steven Soderbergh some oral to get into another of his films as he's the only person to get a real performance out of her and I think he could do it again. Hell he made Brad Pitt and George Cloonet look like they could act (Actually I think Brad Pitt was good in quite a few films, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club etc)

How could he not. Love that he mentions that J.Lo is hardly in Jersey Girl, so it'll be a lot better than Gigli...
They ain't gonna get married. Good for Ben. He doesn't need it. He should marry Liv Tyler (who's his real love intrest in Jersey Girl, and Armageddon, SHE SMOKING HOT!!! and her dad is probably the coolest Father In Law one could want!)

when i first saw the trailers and commercials for this movie, i had no desire to see it. however, now that everyone is talking about how bad it is, i am dying to see it. i went through the same thing when glitter and crossroads came out. i may just have to get a bootleg copy.
