I'm going to see it on Friday. I heard it was directed badly, but still good.

I can't wait!

I haven't seen any of the three. Probably won't see this one either.

Unless Alyson Hannigan is doing hard-core sex scenes...then I'll fork over my $10.

These movies (From what I've heard and seen) appear to be the epitome of "point and shoot" films. And don't they supposedly have TWO directors? Christ, they make Kevin Smith look like Hitchcock when it comes to camerawork...

It was directed by Bob Dylan's son Jesse (he directed How High also). I've just heard he did a bad job, but I'm guessing they are just harping on him cause of who his dad is.

First movie was directed by Paul and Chris Weitz, second by James B. Rogers.

Y'know, then maybe it's not the fault of the Weitz Brothers, because they went on to do "About a Boy", which is probably in my top 5 of guilty pleasure, "sensitive man-boy" films. And it's just plain good.

This movie was pretty bad. I can't stand that kind of humor, it's in ranks with Dumb and Dumber. The editing was terrible. In one seen with Alyson Hannigan and the father, you can see the camera man in the mirror. That was the highlight of the movie for me. That's pretty sad, although that's what I look for in every movie.

the editing and pacing of some of the scenes were downright amateur work....college level filmmaking...you can tell...just pointless scenes thrown in there for the hell of it...

Eugene Levy made this entire movie...I don't know what they'd do without him...

the editing was a disaster
I remember seeing AP1 and there was a shit load of editing mistakes. I saw microphones on hand held booms, and people who looked like stage hands in the background. Is it sorta like that Jeff?

ok ill tell you what's wrong with the editing:

1) The pacing in the bachelor party scene. It got WAY too slow...all of a sudden there was a lull and you were like...what's going on here...it was tangible and extremely distracting.

2) There were 30-60 second scenes thrown in for what I believe to be dramatic development that had no fucking point to the entire storyline....specifically one brief exchange between father and son outside the hotel before the wedding.

3) The order of the scenes did not flow naturally. It could have been arranged a little better, I think.

Some other plot points:

1) I don't care how fucking retarded you are, an 80 yr old woman FEELS like an 80 yr old woman...if you're in the dark and you cant tell the difference you're a fucking idiot. Besides, don't you find it a little odd your partner says nothing, or even worse, is in a WHEEL CHAIR?

2) An entire wedding's worth of flowers must be ordered WAY in advance. If all the displays of flowers were destroyed and had to be replaced, it would take at least as long as it took to order them. Ridiculous.

3) Forcing the joke is getting extremely annoying, and the American Pie series is a fucking master at it. Note the scene with the dogshit/chocolate truffle and the dog humping incident.

4) The whole pubic hair through the fan thing is riduclous, if you think about it. Who would keep pastries near a fan that is so powerful it acts like a vacuum for any floating debris outside?

5) The plot is all over the place, from finding her a dress, to Jim learning how to dance, to Jim tackling with the gravity of getting married. I felt very little chemistry between Jim and Michelle because they had what I imagine to be about 10 min of screentime total. This was Stifler's movie, and everyone knows it. Once again we see another movie fall victim to the "Most Popular Character Syndrome" where the audience gravitates toward the most outrageous character and everyone else falls to the sidelines. I thought Michelle, Finch and Jim were great enough characters to focus on. Hell, the guy who fucked Tara Reid in the first film got like two lines...I don't even remember his character's NAME...what does that say to you?

6) The sudden switch to drama during the final dance scene felt extremely forced, but I liked the sentiment they were going for. If they had more of that real emotion throughout the movie I think it would have been more enjoyable. Imagine a movie about a wedding who's main focus is not on the people getting married! MORE JIM AND MICHELLE SCREENTIME!!!!!

7) The dialogue between Jim and Michelle's parents were nothing short of pointless and awfully redundant...not to mention unbelievable.

I can go on and on...it did make me laugh though...then again so do farts and fat people getting hit by cars.

Farts AND fat people getting hit by cars! If that's not a movie yet, it should be.

I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

We saw it last night. We both thought it was very funny. I can't recall a time where I heard so many laughs in a movie theatre. I also liked it much better than 2. And I'm sorry, how can they not even mention the Oz character? And where was the Shermanator?

Saw it on Friday (right after "S.W.A.T") and yes it was funny on many levels, but I just didn't appreciate how STIFLER was the focus of the entire movie.
In the first 2 parts there was an equal amount of film-time for all the characters.

I also didn't like that Oz, and a couple of the other original characters weren't in the film, especially if it was about a Wedding.. usually they bring back old friends for a Wedding Reunion-type movie.

But it was funny, I'll give it that!

P.S. S.W.A.T was good too.

I saw it and I thought it was very funny....but yeah they did have too much of the Stifmeister and not enough of the others..and they didn't have Chris Klein and Mena Suvari...that was just disappointing I mean if Jims gonna have a wedding how do they not mention why their characters aren't there...what's up with that..I don't know if there really is a best movie in the American Pie series to be honest but this one sure was good
