keep in mind i think the legal age in japan is like 16 or suttin so those kind of taboos are non existant there. but yeah it's a kooky show mad funny just cuase of the fact it makes no sense glad to see more good anime making the mainstream

so the part with the 50-something father lusting after the 16 year old girl somehow ISN'T creepy?

also the main character is referred to as "grade school" but is implied to be having sex with the 16 year old


it's all very uncomfortable

I'm sure there's lots of creepy stuff on in Japan but this is probably the most "risque" thing they've run since Big O probably (in terms of pedo-themed stuff)

I'e seen like three or four of these episodes when my friend was downloading the fan sub versions. I thought it was hilarious, just as funny as Excel Saga. This one scene where the kid crashes his scooter is sick, it's like matrix style. So I will be watching to see how good it gets

I don't think anyone's sidestepping it.

In Japan there is a market for rorikon themed shows / mangas / doujins, etc.

I mean hell, Cardcaptor Sakura's audience isn't composed solely of adolescent girls.

I don't get a strong rorikon feeling from this show, though.

I posted about FLCL a couple weeks ago. I dunno, I watched the entire thing with fansubs. It's twisted, and it only gets stranger as the 6 eps go on.

I'll event take IRC recommendations, although I'm not big on IRC.

And Travis, if you don't like it, just don't watch! I'm by far no anime expert, but after watching every episode of FLCL, I can say that there are FAR more "pedtastical" anime out there in the stream of commerce.
