I thought they won that day they were booted.

They are still being paid. The got tons of press. They can't have been embarrased as they were wrongly fired (since it was the third time they did that sponsored "bit")

They'll come back and do a tamer show (i.e. No illegal stuff) ((is it i.e or e.g. ? Got to watch "Get Shorty" again to find out))

With all the things that I've read that OnA have written and other websites, them returning within a year is a good possibility.

They'll come back bigger than ever. Most likey with a tamed down show too. Them getting back on the air with a bigger audience and more media would qualify as them winning.

as long as they stay away from these dumb contests they will be fine. If and when they come back, where will they go?

Maybe by then they'll figure out a way to make money off the internet/satellite radio, and the show will NOT have to tone it down, but rather SHOCK IT UP!!!

I always liked Opie on the Andy Griffin show. Was Anthony the other kid carrying the fishing pole in the opening shows credits?

The Ron and Fez show transcends all boundaries.

From DCRTV:

A Year After O&A Stunt, Still No Fine - 8/8 - One year after Opie and Anthony's sex in a church stunt, the FCC has yet to impose a fine on the former NYC-based radio duo (who got yanked off the airwaves) or Infinity Radio for what many saw as an "indecency." And FCC Commissioner Michael Copps ain't happy about it. Check out the Commission's press release at hraunfoss.fcc.gov (http://www.hraunfoss.fcc.gov)

So have O&A won yet?

Anthony had a heart attack and Opie hasn't been seen in ages.

You do the math.

Most likey with a tamed down show too.

Sure Opie will call his wife and kid and talk about his weekend every Monday, and Anthony will do an Arnold impression and bitch about being alone

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

people hate change - if they come back tamed, people will complain that they lost after all.

Bill...you are absolutely right. I couldn't have said it better myself.

They CAN'T win. If they do come back, the leash that they're on will be incredibly short. They will never enjoy the on-air freedom that they once had. And, as a result, people will accuse them of selling out by the fact that they won't be as outrageious as they once were. It's a no-win situation.

Blame Paul Mecurio.

Followed shortly thereafter by various book and movie deals.

So have O&A won yet?

This is one of the most ignorant and naive questions I have ever heard. O & A LOST, R & F LOST, the ENTIRE station LOST! Don't be thinking that bullshit "O & A always win in the end", cause guess what? They didn't! THEY were wrong....it turned out they took everyone down (not intentionally) with them in the END. Let's not sugar coat this with the iron clad denial of "O & A always win in the end".

I am an O & A fan and eagerly await their return but let's get real, it will not be the same, the shows, the station and the great chemistry. Good god if Opie even attempts a "O & A always win in the end" I would cut that show off quicker than a Honduras immigrant after our first date.

I'm just overly dramatic at times, I'm actually quite chill.

Even if the show comes back bigger and better, there will still be a big portion of their audience that will say that the show isn't as good as it was on WNEW.

well, they obviously didn't win, and they probably won't win in the end, but that all depends on what happens in ten months. I don't think that they'll be on that short of a leash, considering the fact that whoever rehires them would easily know their reputation and figure that they won't get the long-term success that they had when they were at WNEW if they try to tone them down (and anyone who does try to make the show more tame than what it was when they know that its O&A is just a greedy bastard/bunch of bastards that only care about money.) However, the fact that O&A won't be getting paid anymore after the contract is up will be the factor into whether or not they decide to fight the idea of having a toned down show or just doing what they need to do in order to get paid. That'll determine if they're really sell-outs.

They'll probably get book deals too if they continue their success.

Admittingly though, their show might not be as good as it was at WNEW, simply because they may be afraid to do things as brazen as Sex for Sam, and they'd wanna keep their jobs. If they just stay away from the Catholic church, they'll be A-OK :) And I'm sure that they'll have a lot of material to talk about once they get back to make a pretty good show. So we'll just have to wait and see.

I'll still support them. As long as the show doesn't suck. In that case, I'll have no radio to listen to. Like I don't right now. I'll be stuck in this radioless hell hole forever.

I wish I lived close enough to get WJFK reception. This is crap. Total crap.

I agree with Steels 100%.

It is so sad that there are so many losers out there who are so delusional as to believe anything other than the truth of what he said.
