I KNEW I wasn't THAT sugar-crazy as a kid. When I was ten (1989) and living in Paris, my family and I would go to an American Air Force base in Belgium for our big grocery shopping trips so we could get tons of our much-needed American food. A couple times I remember going and seeing these GIANT Oreos for sale.
Now in all my years overseas, I've noticed that a LOT of new food products, be they fast food or snack foods or a new design of a Cherry Coke can always showed up overseas first to be road-tested, so I had assumed that this giant Oreo was one of those because I saw it maybe two or three times and then it vanished. My mom always refused to buy some so I was forever denied, and just assumed in later years that I had imagined the whole thing becaus enobody knew what the hell I was talking about.
But now...I HAVE FOUND THEM!!! THEY DID EXIST!!!
Thanks to the permanently retro and sometimes funny site X-Entertainment.com, I have seen proof!
BEHOLD!!!

So now I need to know...what happened? How could these have failed? Undoubtably they would have been horribly bad for you (LOOK at what they did to the poor girl above), but come on, what kid wouldn't go nuts over giant Oreos? Did mothers across the nation refuse to buy them as mine did? Did someone eat several in one sitting and have their heart explode? Inquiring minds NEED to know...
