Most effective way to fall asleep?

Im a person who constantly tosses and turns before I go to sleep. Sometimes it takes me hours of laying in bed before I finally nod out. Are there any definite methods for falling asleep? I try soothing music sometimes, but I can't stand sleepin with headphones on.

Anyway, dont sleep with headphones, because either you'll brake them or you'll go to sleep sore. Why cant you just turn damn music on? There hasnt been a night I havent gone to sleep without WFAN on. Joe Benningo really puts me to sleep. But maybe thats because I'm usually running 18 hour days... 12pm-6am. I also havent slept a night this summer without the AC. I always turn the AC on at about 11 (if it isnt already on) and leave the room for about an hour, then come back and watch my late night TV.

This happens to me a lot also. Once I'm asleep it's almost impossible to wake me up, but it takes me forever to fall asleep sometimes.

I have those silly Sound Therapy alarm clocks that has nature sounds on it and I usually listen to the ocean waves at night or classical music. They are soothing and usually put me to sleep after laying there. Sorry to say there's no sure fire way to fall asleep or I would have found it by now.

ill make a joke and then for real. xanex, a spliff and a couple beers assed me out last night, muscle relaxers help too. though true, thats the joke part.
Did you ever think of pickin up that little 1 foot water fall thing, it seems the noise would be annoying, but it keeps you from thinkin about things which is usually what keeps people up. music helps to, anything to distract you from thinkin about your day will help you sleep faster.
