View Full Version : How do you wear your watch?

Once in a while I'll see someone wearing their watch with the face on the inside of their wrist. As opposed to being on top of their wrist - the way I wear it. I don't really understand why people would wear it the other way, I tried it once and it just felt really weird.

I wear mine on top of my left wrist, why would you want it on the bottom, it would hurt my hand if i tried to lay it on a desk or something. And would probably screw up my typing, and screw turning my arm to see the time, its enough calories being burned looking at my arm, BUT TURNING IT OVER, im too lazy for that.

i wear mine on my left wrist on top also. i've never seen it on the bottom. in fact as soon as i feel mine start to twist on my wrist i have to adjust it.
i can't wear a watch though if i don't have long sleeves on. it just doesn't look right to me with a t shirt on. its a mix of my skinny arms and the watch seeming like a piece of jewelry.

Left wrist, I keep it loose so sometimes it slips to the inside.

I guess I'm weird. I'm right handed and wear my watch face up on my right wrist. People have tried to explain to me that most people wear their watch on the opposite hand they favor, but I don't give a shit.

People who wear their watches so that the face is on the inside of their wrist are out of their minds.
Watch etiquette is to wear your watch on the wrist of your non-dominant hand (facing up, correctly). The reason it is worn on the hand used less is to reduce the risk of damage to your watch.
I am right-handed, and I wear my watch on my left wrist. Properly.

I never wear my watch, I just keep it in my pocket. I don't like having something tied to my wrist.

I always wear mine on my left wrist (Im right handed) with the face up. I cant understand how anyone can think its convienient with the face on the inside, but I guess its something certian people become accustomed to. Ive noticed people saying that they wear pocket watches, Id personally find that to be a pain in the ball bag, only because I like seeing it and would think its inconvienient to have to dig into my pocket or have to glance at my belt for a time check.

Well, that mught explain why I break watches left and right.
Instead of switching sides, I've just started buying cheap watches that I don't care about.

When I wear one, which is rarely, I wear it on the inside of my left wrist. I just find it easier to read - particularly when I was in school, it made it easy to glance at the time without being all obvious about it.

i wear my watch on me left hand (i'm right handed). i wear it facing in, so i look at the inside of my wrist when i need to check the time. i've been wearing it that way forever, it just seems the most natural way for me. i tried wearing it facing out, but it was just too weird.

Arieie you made a mistake early in life, and then compounded it by getting used to it.
You are wearing your watch the wrong way, and you need to correct this. It is as if you are biting your fingernails. Have some willpower, and train yourself to feel comfortable wearing your watch the proper way. Also, you may as well stop brushing with such candy-sweet toothpaste, and try Tom's of Maine (Peppermint) for 17 days consecutively and exclusively so that you become entirely used to the fresh and natural taste.

or they are called chicks. i notice alot of women wear them under the wrist. i think the under the wrist thing isnt always bad, cause it hides the face. if your playin ball or goofin around, you wont hit anyone with it. kinda like the idea of the hat goin backwards in a game so you dont hit anyone witht hte brim. so who cares how someone wears a watch.

outside left - I was under the impression you put it on your non dominant hand because you are more accustomed to using your dominant hand to buckle things - try buckling a watch with your left hand if you're right handed - not easy.

You are missing no joke. This Is Not A Bit.
because i've only slept for a couple of hours and just woke up with a headache and feel like crap,
Interesting disclaimer, but a bit on the "yapping" side.
but... what the hell is your problem?
Hang on a minute here - what got you so Violent now? Are you nuts?
i was just answering a question.
And I was just responding missy, and giving my opinion. No need to get bunched up.
i don't recall asking for advice on how i do things, or an assessment of my character.
Cheeses. Anyone who says "I don't recall" reveals themselves to have additional personal issues to work out, no? Who pushed you over the edge to get you so Violent.
i've gotten through life just fine wearing my watch the way i do. better than fine, actually;
No need to get so defensive. If you don't want to wear your watch correctly, no one is going to force you, relax, recognizing the problem is 90% of the solution, and until you open your eyes to it, you are condemning yourself to willfully blind ignorance.
i do pretty well for myself.
Really now. What do you do?
oh, and i've stopped biting my nails by just deciding one day to stop, and i havent started again since. so willpower is not really the problem. there just has to be something that i deem worthy of it. neither the watch thing nor this post qualify.
I see you never mentioned the toothpaste idea, and so perhaps there is hope for you yet. But your parting shot about not "qualifying", I think you need to look into yourself more and sort out why you exhibit all of this Violent hatred.
