Currently I have regular cable service, but more and more I've been thinking about upgrading to digital cable. I'm wondering if it's a better or worse service. I've heard the on-demand features are good. Just curious if you have it and what you think of it, if it's worth it to switch.

I would get DirecTV, if it's available. Cheaper and offers more channels when compared to my loacal Comcast of VA.

i have comcast digital cable - jersey city. its pretty good, but expensive; mom pays about 100 for two tv's. there are some good channels - starz encore superpack. you should compare packages and prices in your area to see which system is the best.

Whats expensive about it? Just to upgrade will cost 10 bucks a month. With that you get the box and remote which in itself means nothing. But you get the channel guide so when you flip the channels it tells yea what channel youre on and what show is on. A hhuge plus when youre up around the channels youre not sure about and if there a commercial. You can also go to a channel and flips through to see what on for the next 24 hours. Now you also get like 50 music channels which are good, and play shit you would never hear on the radio. Besides all that you get pay per view that you can rewind and shit and watch for like 6 hours or somethin.
Mad props to Fluff for the sig and C.O.soup for hosting!

It is only 10 bucks a month more. I'm not sure what some people consider "expensive". My bill went from 70 a month to 80, and that includes the extra 5 bucks a month for HBO On Demand.
It's worth every penny.

well i went from just regular tv to directv. so from paying nothing but the electric bill, to paying $30 for standard and $50 for all the movie channels its expensive.

my granddad and uncle had digital and Dr0pped it... too many channels for them. i viewed/listened to a bunch of the different music channels(like having a radio on your tv) classic rock channel, country channel, alternative channel... there were a bunch of them...
and there were a ton of HBO channels...
it just seems to be "overkill" and when you are watching one channel there are a couple hundred other channels passing you by...

Digital Cable is definetly worth it.
But Im looking for Cable interet deals, cause the Adelphia package for digital cable and all the HBOs,Cinemaxs,Showtimes,Starz, and Encores and cable internet is 106 a month...and it does sound worth it, but still really high.
Considering Im paying 56 a month for standard digital cable, and 9.95 for dial up.
If cable inetnet worth 40 bucks more a month?
