Anybody watch this last night? I didn't think it was very good and all of the taped segments blew.

Mario Cantone did a pretty funny rant.
But most the taped stuff really sucked, although Conan O'Brien's was good.
So much for a Roast and it wasn't in the friars club

I only watched the first hour of the show:
Leary's Preist was the funniest guy there!
"...I'm not a particularly religious man..."
Rene Russo with a penis? I couldn't understand a word Gena Gershon was saying/singing so I didn't get the joke (Other than it's funny to see a Rene Russo with a cock)
What's the Keifer Sutherland/Leary connection?

I thought it sucked. I kept tuning back in hoping it would get funnier. Jon Stewart's pre-taped thing was the worst. I missed Mario Cantone and the Priest. I got a chuckle from the "the little Leary smoking neices and nephews bit, was that Adam Ferrara (sp?)?

Dennis Leary has done nothing funny since the asshole song 10 years ago.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

A serious let down. On paper, a solid collection of funny guys...very few delivered. The taped segments smacked of laziness. I didn't mind Bruer's rendition of Asshole, but I'm not sure how well it went over.

The only parts I liked from the show was Ferrara, Quinn and Breuer's 'Asshole' song cover. Actually, outta all three, Breuer's part was the most entertaining.
Dane Cook seemed to be the only person who was really crass and sick. Everyone else seemed to follow the gay bashing, anti-Irish bits they had all written. Although Dane Cook wasn't really that funny either.
With the exception of Breuer, the roast sucked.
*edit* Is it just more or is the font on the website in jumbo-size?

by far. i didn't think it sucked, but it was disappointing. i had high hopes for it. Leary got roasted the least i thought. Colin Quinn was alright also.
the biggest let down to me was Bruers part. i was really looking forward to him and they throw him at the way end and he does the Asshole song.

I thought it was very funny, Adam Ferrara was hilarious as well as Dane Cook and the Priest. I thought Ed Lover and Dr. Dre were funny, and the Mike Fox bit was funny in a sick twisted way, it is sad to see how bad hes gotten though. Other than that it was Eh, another CC roast, didnt like the asshole rendition and Rene Russo wasnt that funny.

For me; what was worse then the roast was Comedy Central's promotion of this.
I think after the 492nd time they had a Spot about it, with the Voice-Over saying 'Dennis Leary is an Asshole' and Dennis saying a vaguely veiled 'Fuck You' I was like enough!!! Go advertize the show on some other channels.
Was this taped live? Because i watched it when it first played but not since. Because it seemed very disjointed and thrown together. Why Kiefer and Liz Hurley right there? Just a coincedence? There were others near but they weren't lit much. I thought some bits had some good material, but too many went the easy route with the 'lets talk about how your career went from Movies to a failed TV series to Oil commercials.'
And if they had ended it when they said they were before the Jim Bruer segment, it would have ended on a much higher note. I think Bruer kicks ass lately with his stand-up, but that Asshole song was just not funny, and the look on Leary's face said it all.
Having said all of this, in the right roles, and in a lot of his stand up, Leary Kills.

Let's just call it the "Shoulda Been Bill Hicks Roast", call it a night and forget this ever happened.
