View Full Version : The New Civil War: Conservatives vs. Liberals

Has there ever been a period in American history when these two groups were so easily defined and aggressively opposed? I ask this only because I am relatively young and this is the kind of information that is missing in most historical textbooks. While I find myself more on the "liberal" side of things, I am upset by the fact that being labeled "conservative" by the liberals that i associate with carries the same negative sentiment that the word nigger possesed in annals of American History. In a time of world crisis, these differences in beliefs seem to be just a new way to divide ourselves. It is boring and sad that we attack one another only to make ourselves seem the better. Remember when your sixth grade teacher taught you about constructive criticism? It is a lesson I never forgot.

His intentions are good, but this thread can only end in anger and despair.

Forget the Whigs. They're too "newfangled" for me. I've just joined the Federalist Party. Yay for the Alien and Sedition Acts! Nay to to the Jeffersonians!

I'm really a robot, and as such I feel the Natural Law party deserves FAR more attention in the American political landscape.
Do it NOW before I crush a baby's head with my cold, dead metal claws!
