Starting tonight, every night this week on VH1. I was addicted to the 80s series so I'm sure I'll like this.
My favorite thing about the 70s was................ME! :p

AHAHAHAHAHA! I'm so glad I never got this as a kid and had to learn the lesson that what you see on TV is not what you get.

Looks like I'm doing the same thing I did for I Love The 80's, catching bits and peices of the shows. I'll probably see the whole thing within a couple months.

Damn, I remember the Pet Rock!
I'm watching the 1975 episode, and like others have mostly been catching it in bits and pieces.
Great series.

Coming this October: I Love The 80's Strikes Back!
it was obvious that they were gonna make a second series about the 80's. they left so much out.
anyway, I Love the 70's is awesome (I learn something new whenever I watch it.) and ILT 80's Strikes Back is gonna be awesome too. Or at least I hope it will. Cuz if it doesn't...well then that would just be a bummer.

Do you think 70's is as early and 80's is as late as it will go?

I'd lay money that they won't have anything before the 70's. VH1's core audience these days was born in the 70's and up.
I'd also bet the farm that there WILL no doubt be an "I Love The 90's" by the end of 2005 at the latest after they do a second 70's run.

I'm going to disagree with Mojo and say they'll do the 60's before they do the 90's. 90's are still too recent, people aren't nostalgic about it yet. On the other hand, you have vietnam and hippies for the 60's.
And why did they find so many new people for the series that add absolutely nothing. They ditched all the 80's crappy people and got all new crappy people for the 70's.

No way.
They key with the both the 70's and 80's specials is that they're full of USELESS POP CULTURE BULLSHIT. Stupid toys and fad and ugly clothes. Stupid decades, essentially. The 60's, whether rightly or wrongly, are taken WAY too seriously in terms of politics, social events, music and even fashion. These current series revolve around making fun of these decades. The 60's have been deified. It's too late. The 70's and 80's existed on a premise of "man, I wish it was the 60's!".
And 90's nostalgia is already in full effect. It's horrible. Our "retro nostalgia" timeframe is getting so thin that soon we'll be having nostalgia for decades that haven't happened yet.
