All along, for decades, both Iran and Syria have had closer involvement with terrorist acts that have killed Americans than has Iraq.
They have paid little or no price for their direct support of those who have murdered hundreds of Americans.
The price Iran paid for murdering hundreds of Marines and diplomats was to find warehouse space for hundreds of anti- tank rockets and other arms and equipment sent over by Ronald Reagan as ransom payment for hostages.

Just about all the involvement I've read of Saddam with terrorism beyond his borders has been 1)paying the suicide bomber's families in Israel; 2)assassinating Iraqis who left the country and criticized him.

i didnt say we went to war to take iraq's oil.
But how nice would the price of gas be if we were able to swindle our way into OPEC. i think thats part of the reason, not the existing oil persay, maybe more the connections with other OIL. Plus Bush has to have a hard on for them after what they did to his father. im not sayin we went to war for that, but i know its in his mind.

i just conceded it wasnt the reason. but once a reason came, it was definately a motivation. same with oil, i wasnt sayin they were reasons so much as maybe motivations to pursue the honest reasons that he did have to go to war.

Yeah that area is a mess, always has been, always will be.
Before the war, I went from supporting it to opposing it. One of my reasons was that we were taking on a "California sized West Bank of our very own"; that we were presenting mideast terrorists a target rich situation that they would welcome, and that there would be constant sniping, car-bombing, mining, suicide bombing, etc. of our troops.
I am furious with the administration for misleading Congress and the American people.
Their recklessness has gotten hundreds of our troops killed and hundreds more wounded, wasted billions of dollars in national treasure, taken a big bite out of our military's ordinance stocks, frittered away loads of post 9-11 good will, and deployed over half of our deployable combat power in WEST Asia as threats arise in EAST Asia.
