It's not much different from the one played at the end of Reloaded... only a lot more CG... and it's good.

I'd rather see a prequel now and try to wash the awful taste of Matrix 2 out of our mouths.

time for me to do my little stint as a shock poster. you all sitting down?
i have never, thats right never, seen either the first or second matrix, nor do i have a desire to see either or the new one. I dont know, movies that are heavy on CG i just never got into. i know all movies are unrealistic, but i at least like to watch movies that you could at least concieve. Clerks could at least happen.
But unless this is last dragon and your names Bruce Leroy, you arent stopping bullets (that ones for DK)
Ok, carry on

I liked Matrix Reloaded. I don't see why it gets a bad rap from so many people. It was entertaining and made you think. Granted the first viewing was a mind fuck and I left the theater thinking "Cool, but what the hell was that?", on second viewing it made total sense. Looking forward to Revolutions.

I thought the second one was fine.

I liked Matrix Reloaded. I don't see why it gets a bad rap from so many people.
Because many of those people are dumb, just don't care or REALLY LIKE IT but want to seem "too cool" to get into it.
The first film had a nice twist and made people think a bit. Reloaded didn't have a twist like the first, but still requires a bit of thinking.
The actions scenes weren't as incredible as the hype led us to believe and many people went to Reloaded expecting to have their minds blown.
I love those fools on AICN who have been bitching about Reloaded sucking for 3 1/2 months at this point. They can't stop talking about a movie they didn't like? I think not!

Yeah, they better have even MORE Keanu ass. And when the dvd comes out, I want any and all De1eted Keanu ass scenes. And a documentary on the Making of Keanu's Ass. And I want myself CGI-ed into the film in Carrie Anne Moss' place. Etcetera.

The first time i saw the fucking car chase scene, my jaw Dr0pped. I thought reloaded kicked ass. If you bitch about keanu's ass you deserve to be sent back to kindergarten, it was just an affect to make you beleive in the story even more. Granted they could have gotten rid of the dance scene, the rest of the movie was great.
This one looks fucking incredible.

I heard on the AICN talkback that in Revolutions Keanu has a beer and cheets on Trinity with Keira Knightley, the Sexiest Tomboy Beanpole on the Planet.
And then LUTHOR FLIES!!!!!

Yes, that's the only reason why people didn't like Reloaded. Becasue we're dumb or want to be cool.
I can't stress how much that rave scene bothered me. When I saw Reloaded the second time I literally had to get up and leave during that scene. It was so bad it made me uncomfortable.
I saw it a second time, mostly because of confusion and the first film. I'm still confused, and they could of done a much better job of explaining everything than that architect scene. I completely lost track of the conversation on the first viewing, leaving the theater confused not because of a particularly complicated plot, but because of one overlong, convoluted scene.
The fight scenes were obviously amazing and alone worth admission. However, the first film had at least some substance beneath the style. Nothing groundbreaking, but well-handled and certianly a step up from normal action fare. With this one we are left waiting for another film to finish it up. Reloaded felt unfinished, and it shouldn't have. It should have standed on its own and IMO, it didn't. The action was fine, but we were left in the middle of a huge messed up plot with cliffhangers thrown in all over the place.
The Two Towers and and Empire Strikes Back were able to set up the next film and be great in their own right, and I just don't think Reloaded did that.
But the biggest thing that bothers me about this is that the ending to the first film seems to have been completely ignored. It seemed like the perfect ending; somewhat ambiguous, but still hopeful. Reloaded seemed tacked on, like just an excuse to make more money. That's just how I feel.

im with HBox. the second one wasnt bad it just pissed me off. i still think if they had released the 2 of them within the same month, that would've satisfied me. but i saw it in may and i still have to wait til november. its just upsetting, plus neo becoming the video game in the middle of a fight scene did piss me off. its one thing for CGI to be subtle, like in spider-man, but this was blatantly obvious.

Ah, but the very end of the first movie may actually take place (chronologically) after the events of the third movie.
If you look at the dates of the computer screen data when Trinity is talking to Cypher at the beginning of the movie (2-19-98) and when Neo is talking on the phone at the very end of the movie (9-18-99) you'll see a huge gap in time. The first movie took place over just a few days, maybe a couple weeks, yet something like 19 months later Neo's talking to the Machines, hangs up and flies off...
Also in that phone call Neo says "I can feel you now". But in Matrix Reloaded he clearly says "Something's different now, I can feel them" Which makes me think Reloaded (and Revolutions) happens before that phone call.
And They(the W Brothers) always wanted to make three films, but didn't know they would be able to. so the New films aren't tacked on, the first film just couldn't lead to them as well because the new films may not have happened if Matrix bombed.

I first noticed it when I was watching the movie and saw 9-18-99 on the computer screen as a date and started thinking about when the first movie came out(may of that same year) and thanked god they didn't reference Y2K.
But it has been posted about a lot since the new films were announced.

From IMDB.com:
'Matrix Reloaded' Hits $450 Million Worldwide
Although Disney's Finding Nemo is this year's biggest hit at the domestic box-office, the highest-grossing film worldwide remains The Matrix Reloaded, which passed the $450-million mark over the weekend, according to Screen International. The British trade paper also observed that the sequel is also the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. It earned $280 million domestically.

So the third film can TOTALLY bomb and they'll still make a nice profit just from the ticket sales of the second film (not to mention DVD sales of both films!)
I thought of two other clues for the last scene of the Matrix actually taking place toward the end of Revolutions:
1) The clothes Neo wears when he is talking on the pay phone to the Machines at the end of The Matrix looks a lot like the clothes we see Neo wearing as he wakes up at the very beginning of the new trailer for The Matrix Revolutions. But doesn't look like the Priest Robes he wears in The Matrix Reloaded (and the Fight in the Rain in The Matrix Revolutions)
2) In The Matrix Reloaded during Neo's talk with the Oracle he says "I wish I knew what I was supposed to do" however at the end of The Matrix Neo sounds VERY sure of what he is supposed to do "I'm going to hang up this phone and show these people what you don't want them to see... a world without you, without controls and boundries".

You know, if the real world was a Matrix, and someday some assclown shuts it down and now I have to live in a post-nuclear dayless apocalypse, I'd be mighty pissed.
