I want to catch American Splendor sometime this week at the Loews at 5100 Wisconsin Ave. in DC. I was going to catch the 4:15 matinee cuz I'm a cheap bastard, but if there's interest in doing a group thing later in the evening, then that would be more gooder. So who's interest and what day and time's good? Or am I just going to be that pathetic loner guy gobbling a bucket of popcorn alone in the theater? Again.
NYers can join in via remote telecast by going to $elect locations in your area.
And it's rated R, so looks like DC Reed is left out again. Tee hee hee!

It's only playing in three theaters in the area so I think not an option.
Looks like I'm pulling a Pee Wee unless there's any other takers. AJ, Mojo?

I'll be in DC for part of the week starting tomorrow, and I'd be up for it if my schedule permits. Anybody else?

Is a punchline even needed here?

Actually, wouldn't something like a screening at Arlington's Cinema and Drafthouse be better for a group thing? Nothing against doing AMERICAN SPLENDER either, but maybe if DC area people can keep an eye open for something everyone could see, drink some beer, eat some pizza and all that jazz.
Another movie option, in Maryland, could be something at the new AFI Theatre in Silver Spring.
Just sayin...

But this is about Yerdaddy. Let's not forget that.
Actually I'd be into any of that. I'd be down for most of the artsy-fartsy films at AFI, but they've also got Young Frankenstein and The Bad News Bears coming up.
Is the Cinema and Drafthouse 21 and over for the youngins?
In the meantime, how's Wednesday at 4:15 sound, Mikeyboy? And since it looks like just you and me, can I expect a happy ending in exchange for a bag of popcorn?

Cinema and Drafthouse isn't 21 all the time; I know they have some shows, like weekend matinees, that the childrens can attends.
With about a 1000 different movies planned for the next year, AFI should have something to appeal to everyone. Maybe when R&F get back something can get planned with them?
When the AFI use to be only at the Kennedy Center, they would play classics like SUNSET BLVD, or arty films, or foreign stuff (they love Kurosawa and Iranian cinema), but they also debuted films like RESERVOIR DOGS, THE KILLER, THE VANISHING, as well as doing a whole series devoted to Troma, another on Blaxploitation, not to mention they were also the only theatre in DC to have played SHAKES THE CLOWN - a cult classic that never became one.

Only if you make me feel pretty.
Actually, a matinee isn't going to work for me because I have to work. If you're willing to make it evening, I can probably make it work. Send me an RF Mail if that works.
Anybody else interested in going to an evening show?

Mikeyboy, I can't hardly send a PM when I'm on your ignore list, Little Miss Talk-to-the-Hand! I need to be in the office in the evening, so I can do the 4:15 or 9:40pm. Email me at Bonedaddy5@aol.com or unblock me.

This sounds awesome, and i could definately work around that.
And over 21 places are acceptable as long as someone over 25, i think, claims to be a guardian.
Also, i cant do anything real late because of legal issues.

I'll go if someone can give me a ride!
Or you could just call me and leave me on the line so it will be just like I was there.

Good movie, good company. But next time someone else is getting put on the rotisserie at the after-movie orgy!
