Check out this story:

Whale Jumps Onto Yacht (http://news.independent.co.uk/world/environment/story.jsp?story=436559)

A friend was asking me if I heard about this and I said she was crazy. Maybe a dolphin or even a shark but a whale? Sure enough, I will soon call her up and still call her crazy and a liar even with this information in my posession. Mean? You bet. But that is besides the point here.

My question to you is: Have you ever witnessed an unbelievable event?

My friend said that one morning he woke up, walked out of his front door to bring out the trash or get the paper. And He saw "A van drive down the street and flip over in font of him. Land on the tires, continue down the block to the corner and then make a right turn"
I said he was either high or he had the flu.
Either way he's full of shit.

HAhahaha... probably but I like the fact that the van just keeps going. Must have been in a real hurry.

a cousin of mine had me take him into washington heights so he could grap a couple bags of haze. and of course nothing looks more natural than an irish/scottish guy riding around 173rd.
anyway, he got his gots so to speak and was opening my car door about to get in when i see a light charge and hear a loud boom acroos the street (it was like 11pm). i look over to a see a guy walk to a body on the ground, fire the gun into the body again, i guess grabbed the shit out of his pockets and took off through the park.
my cousin just jumped in and yelled drive but i couldnt. i just stared at the guy while he robbed the dude and i was frozen till he left.
the biggest thing was the lack of surprise it seemed to show to the people around. i know it happens alot there, but it was right next to a park a block off broadway and alot of people were still around broadway

I witnessed a drive by shooting in college. There was a halfway house across the street from mine. I heard yelling outside and I looked out the window only to see it turn into the OK Corral. Two guys on the porch shooting at three guys in a trans-am, who were shooting back. The car took off, turned the corner in front of the halfway house and they kept shooting. My housemate's car got two bullet holes in it and a bullet struck about 2 feet above my head. Cops were out there a couple hours later pulling bullets out of the side of my place and a couple trees out front as well.

I was the only witness. Made all three newscasts that night! I bumped high school football as the top story! You know how hard that is to do in Northeastern PA?

A couple of my friends are proud to say they witnessed a couple of my more spectacular motorcycle wrecks.

As for me, there have been a few.The first that comes to mind is once I was in the plaza outside the Pompidou Centre in Paris when I saw something fall out of the corner of my eye, followed by a "PLOP!
It sounded just like a drink cup being stomped on after a game in a stadium -y'know how kids'll do that?
I looked up to the roof where the guy had jumped from and there was a guy there with a video camera pointed down at the body catching the crowd that was rapidly forming around it.
My girlfriend and I went over to see and in the crowd some bastard felt up her ass.

" and they ask me why I drink"

It may not be as crazy as some of the other stories but I witnessed my sister giving birth and it was quite unbelievable.

I was out one day in September, reading meters for a utility company in a town that had a view of Manhattan and I was going from house to house and people where screaming that a plane had hit the World Trade Center and Im out and looking up and its a beautiful clear day and Im trying to imagine how a plane could have made that mistake. I go to this other house and some guys screaming that ANOTHER one hit the other one! He invites me in when I show disbelief and Im watching the footage and I realise what was going on. I had no choice but to continue working and Im going from house to house, and its total calm except for the wailing of sirens and fire trucks were trying to make it through the most massive traffic jam ever to get into the city. Every home had the same news story on. Im meeting housewives whos husbands are in the building. A Jamaican housekeeper whos husband is a janitor in the building whom I assure her will be ok becuase he was at the bottom and the planes hit way up near the top. Two houses later I witness the first tower collapse, and Im hoping the guy was in the second one and a while later, that one goes down too! There is pandemonium as I go from house to house, seeing Manhattan across the water and the dark plume of smoke rising up. Im hugging grieving housewives, a woman from Israel whos weeping, not because she has a relative there, but because of the enormaty of the event.
3 days later I start to smell the smoke and stink of the collpase, it was an eerie event that I hope never to witness again, and altogether Unbelievable. I was born in 1965 and can say that in my life, I have seen and witnessed some things that are truly extraordinary. Theres only a few things I can think of that will take the cake for me, and I truly shudder to contemplate what it will be like if I ever do see.

the last full day of senior year, a guy in my homeroom smoked weed before classes start, i was with him, and he kept telling me he had a huge surprise for us all that day. once we got to homeroom he gathered all the potheads into one corner of the room, and there i witness the most amazing spectacle ever. he popped 2 superman pills of E, then sniffed 2 lines, he ate an eighth of oomz, and he had 3 pieces of blotter acid on paper, he took one right then, and he took another during 3rd period and then took the last one during lunch. he went through the whole day of school and was having the best time of his life.

i sat through english with him, and we sat in the back of the class. and the teacher had a poster of someone dunking a basketball, with the words 'jump to it' printed on the bottom. and this kid sat there staring terrifed at the poster. and he kept whispering to me that the 'big black guy is staring at him, and he was gonna get come after him.' when the bell fianlly rang this kid bolted out of the room like he was michael johnson.

I watched Trent Dilfer become a better quarterback than Dan Marino with his Superbowl win.

I also watched a hot chick die in front of me from a car hitting her in Bayonne. She was bleeding from her ears. I can't forget that one.

Hmmm...

On Thanksgiving day 1984; I got a phone call from one of my buddies, and then right after I put on 'Live at 5' [was that NBC?].

Anyway Mike R. and Sean C. the singer and guitarist of my first band, were killed when they climbed between and then on top of a train car going from Penn Station/Garden to Newark. They know Mike was electrocuted when he hit the live wires, Sean was either knocked or fell off immediately after, into an oncoming Amtrak, which basically did its thing.

While I didn't see the event; I saw the lead story; with video of a body bag, with Mike, being taken away from the car. It was not a pleasant week after that.

When I worked for the city, I saw a lot of amazing (and usually horrible) things that , as a civilian, I never would have had the opportunity to have witnessed first-hand!! Unfortunately, the things that I have seen I can't post on this board...But I'll never forget them as long as I live!!!!!

when i worked at the Colgate Plant on the Jersey City waterfront i saw a beautiful rainbow stretched out over the WTC's. I was cleaning tanks that were on the roof and when i came out a storm had just passed and the sun began to break through. I ran in to get my co-worker Leon and when we came back out 30 seconds later or so it was fading.

not unbelievable but it was nice...

about 2 months before 9/11 i was lookin out my window during a really bad thunderstorm and i saw the twin towers, and I noticed the antenna and i was thinking "it would be really cool if lightning struck the tower's antenna." and right when i thought that, a huge bolt of lightning struck the tower's antenna.

it wasn't amazing, but it was pretty kool to me.

when crabbing off a pier in S Carolina i pulled in a little brown seahorse. don't sound like much but it was like watching an old Sinbad or Jason And The Argonauts movie. It laid on it's side and was trying to lift it's head like a horse would when laying down only he had that strange bottom half to his body.
That same day i pulled in a "dead" spider crab. Still amazes me how a dead crab crawls into a crabnet?
Maybe he died on the way up? Maybe he was floating by? I don't know. It was strange to see a "spider crab" too... prior to that all i ever caught were jersey blues, and jersey 'glowing greens" out of the hudson...
