Freaking A! How come gas is so expensive right now? Almost $2.00 and it's Labor day weekend. Can't we catch a break- Why isn't Bush doing something about it? Don't we have access to the oil and gas in Iraq that we could use or something?

And does anyone own the hybrid gas/electric cars? How do they work?

You can find "cheap" gas on pretty much all major highways and interstates, usually a good .20-.50 cheaper than the going "urban" rate. Like here, if I somehow end up far enough out on 66 or 81 it's about $1.30 at this point compared to about $1.70 around where I live.

I'm getting a hybrid when I sell my current car next year. It's pretty simple...you have a gas tank and a battery. When you run out of gas, the battery switches on. When the battery runs out, it switches back over to the gas (Presuming you're smart enough to have refilled it since it ran out...and vice-versa, that you recharge the battery), so you're only using gas half of the time. I think average about 80 miles to the gallon or so. Plus you get a $2,000 tax rebate and can drive in the HOV lanes even if you're the only person in the car. SCORE!!!
