The 3rd Season of The Simpsons was released about a week ago. The box was supposed to sell for $50, but I got it for $40 at Wal-Mart.
I've finally had the chance to watch all the episodes and I can now say that it's definetly one of the best seasons ever.
I watched each episode twice. Once with the commentary and once without it. Each episode's commentary is pretty good. It points out stuff you wouldn't of noticed and funny little facts about the show.
For the most part Fox has only been showing episodes from the last few seasons. So, it's refreshing to see the show when it was MUCH funnier. You'll be surprised to see how many of your favorites were from Season 3.
Any fan of the show should buy it.

I bought it last week for $33.99 at best buy, and I bought the Family Guy at the smae time for $23.99.
The only episode I watched so far was the Michael Jackson one.
And there are 2 commentaries on a few of them. But I only found it by going through my audio options as the show was playing.

Family Guy DVD for $23.99? Damn I missed that. I bet it's back up to $40 now.
Maybe they put it on sale next week when 24 season 2 comes out.

BTW how many seasons of Family guy are there? I loved that show but could only catch a few episodes because Fox loved to move it around!

How can this one be 3 disks and the first set be 4?

Because it was originally a summer replacement series. 1st season is short.

I know what day it is suppose to be released; the brain trust at this particular Best Buy had it out today, marked at $44.95ish, right next to the SIMPSONS Season 3 DVD and the WEIRD SCIENCE DVD and the FUTURAMA DVDs.
There were about 5 or 6 left on the shelves (I wasn't the only one who knew they screwed up, because nothing else was as picked over), and maybe by now there's nothing left - this was about 3:45.
I would have gotten it, but it's already ordered from Amazon at a lot less. While it was cool they screwed up, I was sure any discounts wouldn't be there until next week when they advertise it.
I see this all the time, by the way, at places like CVS or Eckerts, where they will often have the DVDs and VHS tapes out 3-7 days out before they are suppose to. This was the first I've seen at a store like BEST BUY or CIRCUIT CITY.

Sorry - I'm just very, very, very gun shy, ya know? I did stop back down there at about 7:30, and they actually had MORE out! Someone re-stocked them! Their retail is $41.99 - I broke down and got one.
SO...back to THE SIMPSONS season 3 (which was when the show finally got it's groove on), any easter eggs?

OK, DVD buffs, I need some advice.
I really, really want to get the Simpson's season 3 and the Family Guy (either 1 or 2) boxsets.
I went into Best Buy last week and both were right around $40. I would like to spend no more than $35. Is this possible? Do I just need to keep checking the stores or will I get a better deal if I just order them online. I'm losing patience, I want to get them very soon! :) Thanks in advance.

Try djangos.com and half.com for some good deals on recent DVD's, Aggie. They usually ship the items to you within 3-5 days and you can save as much as 75%.

Be very careful with Half.Com. I've had some very bad experiences with them. I've dealt with sellers who had great feedback and still had problems. And E-Bay/Half won't do a damn thing about it.

Amazon.com is selling The Simpsons: Season 3 directly on their site for $32.49, you can also get it through their new/used seller service for $30.99
which is how I got mine, it arrived within 3 days brand new and I love it. Next on my list is the Family Guy DVD sets as well. See below for what Amazon.com is selling it for....

I got permission from Jon to do this:
Amazon currently has Simpsons Season 3 DVD Set for $32.49. Through the "Share the Love" Program, you can get a 10% discount, brining the price down to $29.24. There is no additional cost for shipping, provided that you choose the Super Saver shipping option,
The "Share the Love" Program works like this: If you buy an item from Amazon, you have the option of informing Amazon of other people who might be interested in that item, and Amazon will send an e-mail to those people letting them know that they are eligibile to purchase that same item at a 10% discount.
I'm planning to purchase the Simpsons Season 3 set at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 18. If you would like to get that set with the 10% discount, register for a free Amazon account and PM me the e-mail address that is associated with that account before that time. Sometime after I make my purchase, you will get an e-mail informing you that you are eligible to get the set at the discounted price.
Full Disclosure: If anyone decides to purchase the set, Amazon will give me a credit equivalent to 10% of the price of the set. Regardless of the number of people who buy the set, I am only eligible for 10% once (a grand total of $2.92). My primary purpose in offering this, however, is to give board members a chance to get the set for less than it is available in most other places.

So far my favorite episodes from Disk 1 are Bart the Murderer when he joins the mob, it's like a Bronx Tale, very funny. Also the episode where Flanders opened the left hand store and Homer buys all his posessions. I've seen these before, just not in along time, so I'm lovin this set.
