This is a wild story. The dead guy claims someone tied a bomb on him and forced him to rob a bank. The cops think he was the robber.

Imagine you go to deliver a pizza and somebody hooks you up to go boom..boom

I think def Victim. And I believe the police handled it very much in the wrong. I mean you just sit there while he has a bomb on him?? At laest follow the guy back to his kidnapper so you can get him...and hopefully save the guy with the bomb on him. But no you wait around for the thing to go off whiel a bomb squad from another county comes to check it out?? I was a tad dissapointed on how this turned out.

It's fucking Erie, PA. It's a town that probably, at the most, deals with run-of-the-mill bank robberies (bad guy comes in, makes idle threats, leaves, and gets captured). Would you prefer that a cop or cops without any experience in explosive defusion have a go at taking care of a complicated bomb, and most likely end up killing themselves and the robber in the process?

Its tragic, if he was trapped into wearing the thing and commiting the act. I imagine that they will investigate to see if they can find anything from the bomb as to who would do something like this. Its disturbing. I dont think that the cops handled it wrong if the device was set to blow up before someone could come and try and get it off the guy. I dont know why there arent more bomb squads closer or within access of situations like this. I always assumed that they were available to diffuse one if one were to show up somewhere, and maybe if any fault should be cast, it should be there and not on the cops actions. Id have driven right to the cops instead of the bank if it was me! I cant understand why the cops seem so calm about it blowing up as its being filmed, unless the images were taken after the fact. Clearly, there are same camera angles of the guy sitting there talking before it blew up. Its a real shame. Im glad they didnt show it going off.

It was a tragedy that should and could have been avoided. And there is little chance that they will find the guy now, because if a guy is going to go to so much trouble to devise a bomb and lock apparatus like that, remotely controlled, he is not going to leave over any clues like a doofus to let the good guys sniff him out.
