It's not that good of an idea to use file sharing programs at work, but WinMx is still working last time I checked.

I like bittorrent. But keep trying these things from work and you may get called into the boss' office.

Why does everyone like bittorrent? I have never downloaded at anything higher than 2 kb/s. And I don't have 5 days to wait for a file.

Looks like the website is down for soulseek. Has been down for the past two days anyway. Tried to get it through Cnet, but it just takes you back to the original site. Any other place you can DL this thing? Or maybe I should just use WinMx.

Thanks for the suggestions guys

I've never had a problem with WinMX. For some reason, everytime I installed Kazaa, it completely screwed up my computer. I heard other people complain of this too.

BTW, I thought we all had to lay low as far as these sites are concerned. I thought some of the providers were ratting out thier customers who were using these. They were giving up the e-mail addresses. Heavy fines were being given.

I loved bittorrent during 24's second season. I would get the full episode the afternoon before the show aired on FOX! Commerical breaks taken out (like the DVD) and it looked great too!

But if they are blocking access to P2P sites or software, I wouldn't use it at work (unless you know they couldn't fire you, like being a government employee or the boss' son)

Kazaa is the absolute worst file sharer I've ever come across. Viruses galore, more fake files than what I'm actually looking for, too much porn(!), horrible search engine, and it locks up my computer six ways to Sunday.

Seriously, why can't any of the file sharers in the last couple years even come CLOSE to holding a candle to Napster? Things are so shitty I've actually come full circle and am now back to using mostly FTP sites to find the files I want, which is what I had to do BEFORE Napster came out.

Ok, now 2 people have said good things about Bittorrent. Is there a secret to making it actually work at reasonable speeds?
