I'm here in a crappy hotel room, in a grey town and its raining like hell. I can't even take in a ballgame. If the Pirates were in town I still wouldn't be able to take in a game due to the weather. Plus, my boss called to tell me that the focus for our third quarter has changed and as a result...THERE IS NO FUCKING REASON FOR ME TO BE HERE!!!!

That's why I bought a pint of Maker's Mark and ordered a pizza. This town sucks.

OK, maybe the town doesn't suck that much. I just don't want to be here and I miss my wife and daughter.

OK, venting over. Go about your lives. Nothing more to see here.

My math teacher calls everything "The pits". That crusty math teacher. O crap...I have to see her in two days. Thanks. Now I have to days to dread the fact that I'm going to see her. Yay. Dammit...

Ok, off of this topic, I'm listenin to Don & Mike (yea yea...i know) and it's obvious that they still suck. But callers are callin' in right now (Philly one of them) that are sayin' they suck. I love this. Does this happen all the time? Cuz it's sad how D&M still think that they are funny. (And its obvious that he's an OnA fan. This makes me happy. :)

Why you dissing one of my hometowns? There's alot to do there.
You could go to The Carnegie museum. But you have to go up to Mount Washington. If your afraid of heights I wouldn't recommend the incline. The incline is like a cable car that goes up the mountain. It doesn't leave the ground but it feels like its high up. There are a lot of clubs in the strip district that have live bands at night and great food during the day. Oxford Center is nice in the daytime. Its like a mall but downtown in the city. There are three rivers in Pittsburgh (the Monongahela, the Allegheny and the Ohio-I think these are the three) so there is some waterfront shopping etc. Falling Water, the Frank Lloyd Wright home is in Latrobe, which is about 45 minutes away, is interesting to visit if you like architecture. There are a lot of malls: The Galleria, Monroeville Mall, etc.

The affluent areas are Fox Chapel, Squirrel Hill, Penn Hills. Do not go into the Hill District in the northern part of the city. The gangs are there. Pitt is in the Oakland area, while Carnegie Mellon and Duquesne are in the city. It should be a fun time but be prepared for a lot of tunnels and bridges. Let me know how it turns out. There are some nice restaurants up there over Mount Washinton where you can look out over the city at night.

So don't say there's nothing to do there!

Save enough spunk for the toilet paper roll. Also hang one over the toilet seat but save enough mud for the obligatory upper decker. Snots on the tv remote and air controls. Take period blood and write "FUCK YOU" on the mirrors.*

Yes Melrapuo. Don and Mike suck for 4 hours a day, everyday of the week. And I'm sure WJFK replays the "Radio Gods" enough to enduce vomiting.

You see, with Gods like that, no wonder people are abandoning religion.

Hey, I was just there this past weekend. Lucky me.

Ever been to a city that died 20 years ago, but forgot to tell everyone who was living there? Yeah, that's Pittsburgh.

Are you sure you're not talking about DC? Once you leave the capital area and all the nice spots, that place is a dump.

SEE, city hating doesn't solve anything. Can't we not bash where people live.

One time I had a picture of the NYC skyline that I showed in class in Mississippi and instead of the "WOWS" and "OWWSS", all they said was "Look at all that smog".

So different strokes for different folks. The grass is always dirtier on the other side of the fence.

Thanks.

How do you have more than one home town?

Test tube-baby.

His birth canal was actually FedEx.

And hey, can I count Pittsburgh as "one of my hometowns"? I've had to go there at least 3, 4 times a year because of family my entire life, and it still depresses me each time I show up. Everything is all rusted and falling apart and the people seem angry at life and everything is grey, the sky seems to ALWAYS be cloudy. They place is always eerily quiet and there are abandoned factories and warehouses everywhere. It's as much of a pit as Detroit, and it's just sad. It's cities like this that are the best proof that globalization and things like NAFTA are NOT in America's best interests. The best description I can give is that it's like the city is slowy eating itself alive...AND IT DOESN'T CARE.

I don't dislike the place...it just depresses the fuck out of me.

What you say is so TRUE. But the politicians only care when it's election time. Then they retread old broken promises which they forget once they're back in office.

I'm still here. The bourbon is making it bearable. I'm going to take it out on my company by ordering the BIG steak.

I'm from Pittsburgh originally, and i still have a lot of family up there.

I definately agree that the city is dying, and it really sucks.

But don't ever say that Pittsburgh is Cleveland without the glamour, Nick.

I can take all the Pgh hating on this thread, but as soon as you throw Cleveland into the mix, you've crossed the line.

Cleveland sucks so so so so so much worse than Pittsburgh. In every imaginable way.

There river has caught on fire.

Their white trash has a far more annoying accent.

The Browns suck.

Drew Carey. Need I say more?

To sum it up, i think Pittsburgh is a city only a native could love. Their really is a lot to do and it can all be very interesting, but I can see all your objections and agree.

The city is fucked and needs serious help.

But i gotta agree that it sucks without baseball.
I was up for a week in August and i saw 4 games in that week. Heaven. Except for all the losing. And the trading. Fucking fuckers.

Not to go on a rant, but, I now refuse to give that organization any of my money. I dont really feel like typing all my greivances ont he board, but if you want to spend an evening peering deep into the darkness of my soul, you can IM me (NumburWanStunna) and ask all you want.
