Well I wasn't sure if this would go into entertainment or the lounge. Anyway a film I was a locations assistant for (and extra in) is now going to be shown at HBO's Urbanworld Film Festival. Here's the description they have of the film...

"Anne B. Real is the hip-hop story of a young girl who finds her voice and inspiration through reading the Diary of Anne Frank. Cynthia (Janice Richardson) is a young girl who tries to ease the pain of loneliness, shyness and ghetto life by hiding in her diary. In her mind, she's a star - but in life, she's unavailable, buried under a pair of headphones and battling her own insecurities. Her older brother, Juan (Carlos Leon), has a drug problem and he's supporting his habit by stealing Cynthia's written words and selling them as rap lyrics to an MC named Deuce (Eric Smith), a rapper who is on the verge of getting a record contract from music mogul Tommy Morel (Luis Moro). Will Cynthia rise to the challenge, help her brother and become the performer she yearns to be? The story does not rely on foul language or gratuitous sex and violence. The audience simply experiences this young girl facing the challenges and circumstances of her life. "

It has cameos from Jakie Martling, Ernie Hutson, and one of the male leads is none other than Calros Leon (Maddona's baby daddy). Carlos really gave a great performance while we were shooting, so I can imagine how it cut together.

This film holds a special place with me because I was involved from pre-production all the way through post. It is also where I met the director Lisa France, who is a great up and coming director, and who I have since worked with on many occasions. I even helped to edit some scenes. Everytime there has been a screening I haven't been unable to attend! So at the festival will be the first time I see it in it's final cut. So I invite you to go see it at the festival if you get the chance.

Check out the website for the showtimes and how to get tickets, along with all the other films being presented. I believe it will be at the Lowes on 34th st. in Manhatten.

I hope it is well reviewed. Will your name be in the credits?

In my opinion, there's nothing in this world beats a '52 Vincent and a red headed girl.

Well, I'm a Director now, but I really want to Assist in finding Locations, and with luck, I'll be a waiter in about five years.

seriously that rocks. I met Furio of the Sopranos sunday night, and I was like, how cool must it be being furio?

and that's about as close as i'll ever get to hollywood.
