It came out last week and I picked it up today. It's really fucking good. It sort of has this ominous feeling to it since all the lyrics were written since he was diagnosed last year with teminal cancer. With that said, he still manages to put in some of the wry and funny lyrics he always has. He even covers "Knocking on Heaven's Door"

it kicks ass, and I was never a Zevon fan. I did catch him live once, he opened for The Band at the Stone Pony down here at the NJ Shore; he was pretty good.

This album is great, and yep, it's all about him dying.

I saw the VH1 special and really liked what I heard, so I think I'll try and snag the promo copy we had sent to us at work.

Actually, one of my music employees was ringing up a customer's purchase the other day, and the customer brought up Zevon's new album, and asked, "isn't he sick or something?" The clerk explained how he was dying and about the new album and the VH1 special, after which the customer asked, "what, does he have AIDS or something?"

"No," spoke my dear, dear employee. "He's as straight as they come."

I had been right there tallying up the CD's I was going to buy, and that SERIOUSLY gave me pause.

Yeah.

Think about it.

I love Zevon. He's a fucking genius. He had the best quote last year when he was diagnosed, "I hope to live long enough to see the new James Bond movie."

And Mojo, your co-worker is a jackass.

I've always been a fan of Zevon. I saw him once in St. Pete

Well, the inevitable happened. Warren Zevon has checked out for the final time. Not even lawyers, guns and money will get him out of this. :(

Let's keep him in out hearts for awhile.
