Who's cooler? Who's the better actor?

IMO: DeNiro is cooler, Pacino is slightly better. Neither is a "great" actor but both are damned entertaining. I'll watch most anything they are in ("Bullwinkle" and "Gigli", they couldn't bring me to see those, I did see "Showtime" and "Dick Tracy" to see them, but even I have some standards)

I think that DeNiro is cooler and a better actor. Pacino sounds like an old woman now.

pacino is the best, cause no one else could play michael corleone. there could have been another vito, but deniro in taxi driver is quite good.

I prefer DeNiro's "classic" films over Pacino's (Though "Dog Day Afternoon" and the first two "Godfather" films are right up there), but I gotta give Pacino credit for not flushing his credibility down the toilet as eagerly as DeNiro has since "Copland".

I gotta give it to DeNiro for the overall. Whats the last good movie Pacino was in? He fell off a while back

"Insomnia" was cool. And Al Pacino was in that, because I looked at the end credits. I don't care for De Niro in any silly roles like "Meet the Parents" or "Analyze This or That" except one- "King of Comedy." That movie fucking rules. In summation, they're both great, I would take Pacino because he has little twin babies and what are the odds of not just one but two humans coming out of a woman looking exactly alike? I mean, I can picture two toy trains looking alike, or two apples, or maybe two rulers, or perhaps two microwaves, or even two mustaches, but two humans?! Even if they are little humans or, as some on the Discovery channel refer to them as- babies-, still what are the odds that they would look alike? I mean, heck. Heck Miss Nelson, sometimes my brother and I have gotten the same haircut and we've worn similar shirts, but dat don't makes us twins, does it? Well? Does it? Answer me!!! So, in summation part II I like Jack Nicholson the best of the three.

Both their carrears have taken a dive into the deep end but atleas pachino tries to do serious roles. anyone that stoops low enof to be in not only billy crystal movies but eddi murphy movies definetly gave up any acting ability they had. and besides No ones better then Scarface.

It was a tough decision to make but I opted for
Pacino because he killed DeNiro in the movie Heat.

Ok, is it me or is HEAT one of the coolest films ever?
Maybe it's just me, but sheesh just a few of the cast:
Robert DeNiro
Al Pacino
Tom Sizemore
Val Kilmer
Ashley Judd
Hank Azaria
Natalie Portman
Henry Rollins
Tone-Loc
Love them or hate them...I thought they were both fantastic in what really is the first movie to ever showcase the two.
And the set-piece of the Downtown LA Bank Robbery ranks as one of the best ever put on film. My cousin watched them shut down a huge section of the city for this sequence.

DeNiro. At least he sold out for a good cause: raising money to build up the TriBeCa Film Festival to help out the neighborhood.

The Godfather Part Two. And they appeared on the screen at the same time as seen here! ;p
Heat was KICK ASS, but I did wish they shared a bit more screentime.

Agreed, and No, I didn't forget that DeNiro and Pacino were both in Godfather Part 2. I meant 'showcase' as putting them head to head.
Except for that fade above [very cool by the way] I think that may be the ONLY time you see them together in that movie [for obvious reasons]...
In fact, I remember catching Godfather 2 for the first time on TV; I thought it was some retrospective, cutting back and forth between the two time periods. Does sorta feel like two movies in itself.
But I digress...
I can't really pick a winner in this one.
In fact, the farther i go back, the tougher it gets.
How about DeNiro in 'Bang the Drum Slowly'? Amazing
And Pacino in 'Dog Day Afternoon' or 'Serpico'? Amazing
And when and why did Pacino's voice literally Dr0p four octaves???...

Was I the only one that didn't know, until they had kids, that Pacino was Banging Mrs. Clark Griswold??

Probably from smoking. I think the change was beginning to show around 1979's "...And Justice For All."

That movie kicks ass. Now I'm picturing East Side doing shots with cardboard cutouts of Ron & Fez in his bedroom.

you cant forgive pacino for doing gigli, but i give him a big thumbs up for making beverly d'angelo take a bunch of hormones to have a baby that fucked up her body, then he left. hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-ah!
and deniro will make a ton of bombs, but he always always redeems himself. and he was AWESOME as vito corleone. his audition for the part of Sonny was great too. a better actor, he is.

My vote is for Pacino, but i have to agree with you Mojo. Deniro didnt run out and do Simone. At least he just did Meet the parents.
Although, meet the In-laws is coming too. Maybe thats enough time to go from credible to washed up.

Deniro is better much more range. Pacino plays the same guy over and over. Deniro: Bang the drum slowly, Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Deer Hunter, Once upon a time in America, Brazil, Angel Heart, Untouchables, Raging Bull, Cape Fear, Midnight Run, Back draft, Bronx Tale, Wag the Dog, Jackie Brown, King of Comedy, Men of Honor, Meet the parents. He might have sold out more, but is entitled. Pacino: Serpico, And justice for all, Dog Day afternoon, Glen Garry Glen Ross, Scent of a Woman, Devils Advocate Donnie Brasco, Scarface. Variations of the same character.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

"nah nah nah..you insulted him...you insulted him a lil' bit. billy billy...drinks are on ..the house."
Both are great actors, but Deniro is the better actor. Deniro. Period end of discussion.
Pacino is like yelling all the time. "I had coffee with McCauley HALF AN HOUR AGO" His arms are moving around and everything. Don't get me wrong...Pacino is great in certain roles...in the Godfather obviously.
Deniro can say more in a look or glance (even now at his age). He does have more range and can do comedy and drama.
This is a debate me and my friends have had for a while...the real film goers go with Deniro. If you're a hip hop wanna be "gangsta rappa" because of one movie Pacino is the best. Whatever.
anyway. "I will bring you down baby. I will bring down to Chinatown"
