What's the best song to listen to if you want to sleep?

I can't sleep so it would be great fi I could make a mix of "sleepy" tunes. I think Something Corporate's "Konstantine" is good, but any others?

Or if you want to listen to something humans have heard of, try the Rain Song by Zepplin and just put it on repeat.

Johnee, just because you're uncultured doesn't mean you have to insult other ppl's music.

I like some James Taylor or Enya to fall asleep by.

There's a long instrumental at the end of Bruce Springsteen's "Racing In The Streets", very relaxing.

Good topic and idea Keith.

I have a ton of discs I put in my multi disc player and $elect my "nimbus" program. Usually works, but that don and mike idea may be even better!

Here are a few:

1) Mazzy Star
2) Sigur Ros
3) Damien Rice
4) Cat Power
5) Echoes (on the radio or the cds)
6) RacerMason
7) Portishead
8) Pink Floyd
9) Four Tet
10) Jeff Buckley
11) Tori Amos

These are generic suggestions, meaning that some cds by these artists are better than others. While for some, Portishead and Mazzy Star for example, any of their offerings would do just fine for the task at hand.

I also use furtherman's instrumental soundtrack idea. Very effective! While some of these movies sucked badly, these soundtracks are all great.

Here's a few of my favs:

1) Lord of the Rings I (Howard Shore's finest hour, literally)
2) Lord of the Rings II
3) Braveheart (Personal fav. / John Horner)
4) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
5) First Knight
6) Star Wars (all five soundtracks by god John Williams)
7) Gettysburg (Randy Edelman)
8) Stargate (David Arnold)
9) Robin Hood (Michael Kamen's best)
10) Harry Potter (John Williams does nothing bad)
11) Last of the Mohicans (Edelman again with help from Trevor Jones)
12) Gladiator (Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard)

Stick to these composers and you'll do great. A few of the above listed soundtracks have energetic tracks you'll have to program out so as not to be woken up in the middle of the night. If I even start to hear those powerful tracks on Braveheart, I'm not getting any sleep for the night.

10) Jeff Buckley

How can you put on Jeff Buckley and fall asleep soonafter??

You should only be doing ONE thing in bed when listening to his albums and it's NOT sleeping.

I'm suggesting Opeths' songs Credence, Harvest and A Fair Judgement.

*Edit* Also Mer De Noms(once you get past track 4)
Fiona Apple-Tidal
Deftones-White Pony
and
Silverchair-Neon Ballroom
