Slayers great, but I've always owned only one of thier CDs. Now it's been stolen. Its the one with War ensamble (sp?) and "Dead Skin Mask". Now what I need to know is what songs off thier other albulms are really good. Ive heard that some of the newer stuff was a letdown so....no need to enclose those songs here.

Remind me to smack you really hard.
First off to only have ONE Slayer album is blasphemy.
I would recommend everything they have done from Haunting The Chapel - Divine Intervention.
Their best however are Reign In Blood, South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss.
But as I said before, get all of these:

stop playing with your self so much and learn how to use the internet. the answer you're looking for is seasons in the abyss, and you probably could have answered your own question in a minute, but you've started a nice thread so i'll run with it.
seasons in the abyss tour was my first concert. 7th grade, floor tickets, rocking a mullet. kids today have no idea what metal really is.

mtv never educated- though late nite shows like hbb and 120min gave you a few good videos in that time. but back when metal was metal i copped that shit from older metalheads or recorded it off the radio from a local college radio show. i remember the first time i heard criminally insane and i thought that shit was nuts.

http://www.pleaseforgetme.com/SIGS/slayer.jpg
I can't believe this.
More importantly, did you find the songs you were looking for Mr. Wadd?
Well, actually, "120 Minutes" WAS the epitome of ass-slurping from '98 onwards, but before that, it was all MTV had going for it besides "YO! MTV Raps".
From 87 - 93 MTV had the Headbangers Ball too. I was usually watching all three becasue my fading musical ignorance soon got me wondering what else was out there and what I was missing. My firend with the Unknown Pleasures shirt and the Psychocandy shirt had to have had them for a reason. So I branched out and was sure glad I did. 120 was truely a great show and many times it was so far over my head I couldn't tell what end was up. But it was cutting edge and it was great. How else would I have heard about Einsturzende Neubauten and The Sisters of Mercy.
The musical climate really started to change around 92 or so and nothing gets to me more than the metal kids who hated the true goth kids and the alterna-types and the skins and the punk kids and the rap kids. You could usually pick out ho was real and who was really into their own brand of underground. Hell, I didn't touch anything punk (besides the bands that Metallica wore on their shirts) until 92 cause there was a certain code. I don't know what it was but it was just this code of being a long hair and not associating with the short hairs or the mohawks. it was such bullshit. We didn't know any better, it was fucking high school. We were all dumb then.
But we grow up.
I spoke of smacking Wadd for ONLY having one Slayer album. My bad. I should truly be smacked for just hearing and buying 7 Seconds wonderful Walk Together, Rock Together.

"Genre"?
Sonic Youth - Dirty Boots
Sonic Youth - The Diamond Sea
Beastie Boys - Sure Shot
Blondie - Heart of Glass
John Spencer Blues Explosion - Sweet n' Sour
Strokes - Someday
The Mooney Suzuki - In a Young Man's Mind
Talking Heads - Nothing But Flowers
Sonic Youth - Bull in the Heather
Ramones - Rock n' Roll Highschool
Sonic Youth - Kool Thing
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 - The Message
Sean Lennon - Home
Lou Reed - Dirty Boulevard
What the hell genre is all THAT?
Not to get bitchy here, but I'm kinda defensive because "120 Minutes" seemed like the ONLY place I could go on MTV where I could AVOID getting sidelined by one genre or "sound". Here's a super-geeky playlist site that kinda shows what I'm talking about, even thought it only has the last 7 years or so. I'll readily admit, once "alternative" hit it big by '93, a LOT of the stuff on "120 Minutes" started sounding alike for a while, but it was still the place where you could find the most variety on a channel known for playing the same videos again and again. '98 through '00 was REALLY dire, as that Limp Bizkit and Creed and company took over the show, but during the late 80's and early 90's, NOTHING topped "120 Minutes".

And I can give respect to the bands the made a sound and write their songs themselves. But I can't give as much respect to the 500 copy bands that record labels put their producers with to get all the cash they can out of a sound.
And you would be well advised to just skip ahead to my posts and read them 1st. Then you can easily compair how horribly wrong all the other posts are against mine.

Hey, I already said "120 Minutes" was pretty much nothing BUT shit for a good 4-5 years towards the end there...it was pretty painful...
But it was still overall the only show on MTV where I was ever able to see more acts that I liked than ones that made me want to hammer nails into my throat.
I just wanna know which show Steels was watching...I never saw any other show where I'd get Elvis Costello and then The Beastie Boys and then Massive Attack and then The Pixies. That's a helluva genre.

Don't worry, Billy.
The guy has no shame about listening to "Dragonslayer".
Without his 12-sided-die he's NOTHIN'.

Also accompanied by the worst song you will ever hear:</p><p>Glenn Danzig and the Power and Fury Orchestra - Less Than Zero</p><p>It was post Samhain and pre-Danzig. Thank goodness he went the direction he did with Danzig and not this song. AWFUL! </p>

<p>Dude I hate to inform you...but Less Then Zero is not a good, but a GREAT fucking song. I'll admit I love all things Danzig so I'm biased, but damn that man can sing and the vocals on that track are to die for!! Maybe its time to refresh your memory there Fluff, give it another chance.</p><p>It's also much better then anything Samhain put out, besides "Misery Tomb" maybe.</p><p>Anyway, you need to realize how brutal this can hit the soul, when you findout a band you love put out a song you love 18 years ago and its been kept a secret that whole time. </p>

<p>Well i saw nothing on thier official site. The site is a story in itself. The only thing upto date is the concert dates. The announce the release of the new albulm "God Hates Us All" in the news section. Theyve got a DVD coming out, but that could came out in 2002 for all I know. All the question answered by the band is from 2002. Update your shit boys.</p><p>EDIT: I just read a review of the DVD which was released last November and the dude said there should be an album sometime this year. Best I could find.</p><p>And yeah, dig up that crusty tape and ENJOY.</p><p> </p><p> <img src="http://scripts.cgispy.com/image.cgi?u=JohneeWadd" border="0" /> A proportionate amount of props are equally distributed to my nigga's Fluff, Alexxis, CanOfSoup15, WWFallon and Katylina HORDE KING FOREVER!!!
