20,000 posts.............

I can't believe I'm having to think about it, but there will be a time when Mojo and Myself hit 20,000 posts. Some others too, I'm sure. I figured it out, and with my current posts per day (15.82), I will hit 20000 in about a year and a half. Mojo will hit quicker. That's not that long considering it feels like I just signed on here a few months ago. Time rushes by so quickly.

I don't know why, but it just made me start to think about what I have to show for it, and if I've been wasting my life away online. A sad introspection. I mean I have fun in here, but at what expense? Who does it effect? What does it even matter at the end of the day? What does it contribute?

No one. Nothing.

The internet is a welcome distraction for me, but at the same time I think, *SHIT! I didn't get that done because I spent my time on a message board. *

Still, things get done - I have a life away from the computer - I don't brood about squabbles with strangers from message boards - and I'm sometimes able to share things I found out, or get a laugh out of something I saw while online.

This is not my only online "community" (thank god - considering how welcomed I am), but it is diverse, with lots happening at the same time, and it does make for an excellent distraction.
