DC is very, very, very much closed, but Ron and Fez were doing their civic duty and had a great 11am show. My favorite line from today was Fez's suggestion for the title of Jessica Lynch's autobiography should be "Not Without My Memory."

There was also a hysterical conversation about their experiences with youth sports, and Fezzie revealed that when he was 8 years old his football team was called The Golden Rebels.

The jokes just wrote themselves!

They promised to be on live tonight, although people may need the good old battery powered radios to hear them.

They were quite the troopers last night!

Even though power knocked them off the air for a couple of moments here and there, the JFK people kept the station on the air, sometimes relying on the back-up generator.

The show was pretty close to what they did last week on 9/11, which was simply go to the phones one after another after another, to find out where power is out, and how people were coping.

A lot of listeners lost power early in the day, and most seemed to cope by getting very, very, very drunk.

A lot of first time people discovered them, which is always interesting, and a lot of people who could pick up the show from WAAAAY out in the country also called in, which is fun for the accents alone.

Some had some scary stories, some had some goofy stories, and some people just rambled. Those of you who miss the "Stupid Girl" tape being played at bad callers would be happy to know that they weren't necessarily nice to every bad caller! Most they blew right past, while some they knew they were drunk off their ass, but they let some have it.

My favorite call was from a guy was drunk who went on and on about how much he loved them - how he discovered them two months ago, and now loves them so much that "I wish I could smush you down to the size of a tic-tac and savor you all the time."

They had kids call, shut-ins call, streakers were popular, families playing board games in the dark, and lots and lots and lots of drunk folk.

It sounded like the WJFK group (Jefe, Dubs, New (Nu) Rory and even Cameron) were all on hand, and from all accounts really stepped up to the plate to keep the station, and the show, going - especially when the computer went out.

At one point R&F saw a bright blue flash, that more than likely was a fuse at a transformer going. Ron said that Fez's face looked like one of those characters in a Friday the 13th movie who knows Jason just cut the power, and he's out to get them!!

THE BEST thing to come out of all of this is that, during a news story a couple of days ago, Fez actually said on mic, "I blow," which has now become Ron's favorite audio Dr0p.

Sorry for taking the time to recap - won't make that mistake again.

For the record: four times does not equal ten times, and one example of (what I thought was) a funny line from a call was not intended to be a lesson in schooling you of what being drunk was about. The reason the drunk callers were mentioned more than once was because the drunk callers were a recurring topic last night.

Of course, being stupid and repetitive, I didn't realize that I was doing more harm than good by posting that...what the fuck was I thinking in responding to a question about what happened last night?!

Strangely, some are jealous of others on the board, I have no idea why. Insults, attacks; hey it's nothing new in my world.

Sad this board has the angst, self-loathing and self-dread on it, as reflected in posts made by many here. Some members seem the need to broadcast these faults; and they do.

A vicious attack on someone, as opposed to disagreement, is a self-expression of the person's own self-hate.
