I've seen this all too often in this forum. People start arguing politics and soon they're quoting some study or poll to back up their argument. Unfortunately, these numbers really don't mean very much without the ability to check out where they came from, if anywhere, and who put them together. If you say that states with the death penalty don't have significantly lower murder rates than those that don't impose that sentence, show me the study where it says that. If you want to convince me a majority of handgun murders are performed by unlicensed owners of illegal guns, give me the raw data. Let me see it for myself. A simple "studies show X, Y and Z" is not enough.
