Easily the worst list of ANY kind...EVER. And I usually like music lists. What the fuck was even the point of this? It smacked of desperation.
It made no sense. I watched the special, and most of them seemed to have been picked based on how good the ALBUM was as opposed to the art itself.
BAH.
And nobody's made "album covers" in over a decade. Stop trying to trick us, VH1.

A M E N !!!
Absolute crap! I turned it off after the first few. After reading the list, there are only about 10 that are worthy.
S.O.A.D. "Steal This Album"?!?!? It's pure laziness, and it gets a nod?!
I love The WHO, they're my favorite band, but to have "Who's Next" as number 2!? Why, because they just got done takin' a piss?
Most of their covers were boring, and the only one that would have been worthy was "Tommy".
Yeah, "Dark Side Of The Moon" is a cool cover, but most of their covers are better, esspecially "Wish You Were Here" Hypnosis has done a bunch of great covers, and this was the best they could come up with!?
Why were there no YES covers!? Roger Dean is one of the best album cover artists ever, and NOTHING!!
Wow, they mentioned the band logo. Big whoop!
Hugh Syme wasn't represented either!! He's done numerous great cover art, with RUSH his most worked with band, and nothing!
Where were the IRON MAIDEN, E.L.P., SABBATH, JOURNEY, ZAPPA, and many other overlooked bands whose every cover was great?!
And finally, why in the Hell was "SGT. PEPPER" nowhere to be found!? This is one of the most recognized album covers in history!
Well, I USED to watch VH-1

39. U2: Achtung, Baby
So this made it and NOT The Stones' "Exile On Main Street"? U2 was obviously influenced by it:

This made it and Elvis' first album didn't?
Actually, they did go out of their way in the special to point out how the album design was paying homage to Elvis'. And besides, The Clash's version is a thousand-billion-zillion times better. Possibly my favorite album cover of all time...

How about Guns and Roses' "Appetite for Destruction?" The Beatles' "With the Beatles" or Sgt Peppers or "Abbey Road" (all famous)?

Some of my faves, in no particular order, were:
Shhh - Ten Years After (great inside photo)
Party Time - Heptones
London Calling - Clash
Raw Power - Iggy & Stooges (Marilyn Manson fans note the photos of the Mightey Pop on the back cover)
There was one that hardly sold at all put out by the Faces that had a goofy face on it and when you bent the album cover, the eyes would move and the mouth would open and close. Sorry, I can't remember the title. 2 songs were "Borstal Boys" and "Silicone Grown".
The first Eddie and the Hot Rods was a good cover.
Blind Faith - the one with the nude 13 year-old girl on it
Sticky Fingers - Rolling Stones - I always liked the Spanish edition cover as well as the one everyone knows
Velvet Underground Live 1969 With Lou Reed
Horses - Patti Smith
Weasels Ripped My Flesh! - Zappa
I'd like to see a list of great album covers that were on awful records.

Now that's funny.
It's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black.
