Relatives you can't stand!!!!

I have an aunt and an uncle that I disagree with once in a while.

Even when I was a kid I didn't care much for my Grandmother, even though deep down inside she was a good hearted person, sometimes.

I mean, I love these people with all my cold heart just for the fact that they are part of my family

My subtly racist grandmother on my Mom's side.

First of all, I come from two gigantic Irish families, with at least 20 cousins on each side. On this side I was the first grandchild, but once I hit about 15, 16, she really didn't want anything to do with me. And my other cousins have noticed this...hit puberty and she decides to basically ignore you since there are always younger cousins togo act all grandmotherly towards.

And the racism thing. She lives in this really expensive suburb of Chicago, but still in the same shitty retro-looking Brady Bunch house she bought 50 years ago. All around her the houses have been bought and and rebuilt into what are essentially mansions. And BEHIND her a black family bought this 4 level brick monster of a house, and she starts wondering, "oh, what'll that do to the neighborhood", while SHE'S the one still living in the nasty hoopty-house driving down property values.

I have this much older cousin who is my grandmother's sister's son. He's one of those people who always blame other for his problems and rants and raves about, "the white man" and "the system". He uses that to explain why he has no woman , no job and why his 13 year son won't have anything to do with him.

i'd have to say i like pretty much all my relatives. there are a couple of my grandfathers nephews who are a little strange but i could tolerate seeing them once every few years...

once in awhile one of my four brothers will get me major pissed off but i always get over it. i'm just thankful i don't have to live with them...

i hate my cousin. he thinks he knows everything about everything, and usually i bite my tongue and let him think he is the smartest person in the world. but once in awhile ill get bored so i want to put him in his place, and i bide my time til he starts discussing a topic in which he knows 'everything' and that im interested in. and at that point i tear into him. i make him look like a dyslexic asshole with down syndrome. but thats not even what pisses me off. its the fact that when we all go back to the mothercountry he bitches and moans about not having a computer to go on. he's surrounded by beautiful beaches, family that we barely see, and good food, and hes crying about a fucking computer.

I get along pretty good with all my cousins and aunts and uncles. But my cousin Bernie's family has been starting this trend that Im quite frankly getting sick of and I dont see any way it can be stopped short of the family just breaking up. Namely, what they have been doing is making extravagant partys! It started when his oldest daughter had her Sweet 16. The party was like a wedding! It must have cost like 50 grand! Then, every few months, he would make another party for his other kids, I guess they felt left out. Then, my aunts and uncles started doing extravagant partys too, and each time I have to go, I have to shell out! Now, his sister is planning a 50th birthday party for the bastard and Im gonna have to shell out again! Im going broke with this shit and it's pissing me off! I tried to get out of a few, but my mom acts like Im disowning them by my efforts at not attending. Its like a viscious cycle, with each cousin trying to out class the other, each child pandered to like they are the hottest shit to ever grace the planet. Im just getting sick and tired of it and want it to stop before I end up in the poor house. I am thinking, if I have to go, Im just gonna give a "Happy Birthday" card with nothing in it and hope that they get the message to stop inviting me. Why do I got to shell out $50 just because they managed to live long enough to have a 40th birthday????? Ok, Im done. I really needed to get that off my chest. Resume the discussion.

I do not get along with most of my family members, except for one of my aunts and her children. My mothers other brothers and sisters are always trying to change the way I act, dress, my friends, just about everything about me. My mother is the black sheep of the family, so they have always treated my like shit.

My Family Tree looks like one of those Post-Hurricane Trees; some branches completely intact; some major branches cut off right at the trunk.

My Mother is a pieace-maker, and she married a peace-maker. Peace-makers get shit on. And then the peace-makers in this case finally said fuck it; hence i havent spoken to entire first generation cousins Families [three off my head] in 10 years.
