To tell your friend you hate his girlfriend???

One of my best friends has been dating this girl for a few monthes now, and every time she comes to visit us up here in NY (she is fom Pennsylvania) we all hang out together

After several attempts at trying to get along with her I am slowly coming to realize I will never like this girl.

I am not going to bitch about her, some people just don't get along. As for her with my friend, he is a big boy and can make his own decisions on who to date... and if they like each other... more power to them.

However... when she visits, he always wants us all to go out (all of us meaning me, him,and 4-5 other very close friends) and I am getting to the point where I have to come up with BS excuses not to hang out.

As a friend... do I have to suck it up, and go out? Do I have to keep up this fake front??? When is it ok to say
"Hey listen keep your sleddog girlfriend away from me... I can't stand her!!!!"

TOM - I wouldn't recomend you tell your friend that you don't like his gf. Nothing good can come of it. He'll certainly tell her and she'll tell him not to hang out with you anymore.

But you don't have to suck up to her either. Tell your friend that you value the time you spend with him much more than the time you spend in a group. Ask if you guys could hang out together instead of in a large group.

You didn't mention why you have this annimosity towards your friends girlfriend? It seems beyond simply not getting along - it seems like real anger towards her. What is the source of this anger?

Yep, HK is right, in that it's best not to say anything. It's only going to make things awkward and whatnot, so it's better to just suck it up and either put on a fake front, or just don't hang out with them as much.

Yea good point, make sure you leave some buffer time before you say anything to him if they break up either.

I am not angry... more frustrated then anything.
There are a couple reasons I don't like her: her lack of sense of humor, her lack of intelligence, her lack of personality... do I really need to go on?

I don't hate her by any means... We are just 2 very different that have very different views and perspectives on things. And HAVING to hang out with her for more than 5 minutes is really tough.

I know I have to suck it up, and keep up this front... but what I am worried about is over the past few time we have hung out... I have been becoming more and more obnoxious to her... and I have been making more and more wise ass remarks.

The worst part is, we usually drink when we hang out, and all those comments that would usually not be said out loud are surfacing. So now if we go out together I can't even drink cause I might say something to this girl that will offend her (and believe ... I have alot of offensive things to say to this girl)

Maybe you should try and talk to her or spend some time with her alone, not in a romantic way of course, but just hanging out. Maybe you two have more in common than you realize, and could get along. I'm sure you've already tried that, but it's worth a shot.

Sunndoggy, or maybe I can shove toothpick into my eyes just for the hell of it.

Actually, I spent an hour alone wiht her in the car last weekend... (she needed a ride somewhere, and my my buddy had to work so I did him the favor)I got to hear her tell me how much she thinks O&A is disgusting, and the stuff they make fun of shouldn't be laughed at... she talked more... but I felt as if I had heard enough non sense so I tuned her out for the rest of the trip.
