After Ronnies comment the other night, what do you think the future hold for the Boys? Sounds like there are some choices on their table.
I say now that the FCC has settled the O&A issue, XM is all of our future

You mind elaborating on Ron's comment for those of us who don't get to hear the program? I'm in New York and totally clueless. Was it big news?

WTF???? Are they going to be dropped or given the axe. I thought the boys were doing good. But then again, upper management don't care about us little people.

RECAP:
A caller asked if they would be going over to 105.5 . Ronnie said that he doesn't know what they are going to do. Several callers later someone asked if that meant they boys were leaving DC. Again Ronnie said it doesn't mean anything, just that we don't know what we are doing.

I heard the call, and it was as it was described above by paul.
The only reason to be suspicious of anything was that Ron was a bit hesitant in his reply, and his answer ambiguous, but that easily could have been because he simply had no idea about broadcasting at the station the caller mentioned.

Yea, and let's all not forget that Ronnie is the KING of the Radio bait. He plants these little seeds in the minds of people who listen too closly. And NOW those people will tell their friends and listen even more waiting for more "signs."

the part of me that hopes for the best (granted a small part being a cynic) hopes Mo is right as Ron is the king of that - but his throw away comments are generally not subtle at all, just that they open the door to interpretation. Not sure if he's getting better at it or this is true. What night was that ?

But, the last hint fest ended with them in DC and NYC out in the cold. He's also been right in regard to Don and Mike NYC issues and their own schedule shifts, so he does love stringing people along, but he's never really lied at any point. I think they will immediately follow or precede O and A at whatever their next stop is, and I think they've been treading water until they know for sure which move they are making, hence the long ease in for DC characters and staff.

What a dumb move that would be.
Let's face it, wherever O&A wind up it will be a short time until Opie's ego goes back into overdrive and they're going to get fired again. You know it's going to happen. Even Anthony once said that a psycholgist they had on in Boston said that Opie always has to fail. It would be great if Anthony joined them as an Anthony, Ron & Fez show, but that's not going to happen.
The best thing they can do is stay with Infinity, build their audience at WJFK, and hopefully get syndicated from there.

Ok Pennington, give it up, you're really Ron, yes?
That would be cool anyway, because the series of shows that Ron and Fez did when Anthony would hang out, sometimes for the entire show were, for me, the Best Thing Going!! WOOOOoooooo!!!!....
Seriously, O+A could be great, I mean really fantastic, but Opie could Make something be funny, while Anthony just Is funny. Talent wise, It's not even a contest; anthony has a range of voices, and knowledge, and comebacks Opie could only dream about.
Of course, all of this means nothing. Maybe if it actually happened, it would suck ass.

Just to throw out random (negative) speculation, I do remember the latest ratings data for the show to be rather.....distressing. But perhaps it's still too early.

That would be great - for the first show.
But c'mon - Anthony would take over. It would be the Anthony show, featuring Ron & Fez. And that's not a slight against Anthony, I like the guy - but he DOES take over. He would take over on some of old AFRO shows.

I think Anthony was on WBAB's Roger and JP morning show last week. (9/26 maybe?)The day after Bob Murphy(Flemy Voice of the Mets) retired. Of course it was a dead on impression and he even slipped in a curse and a mention of Opie and Anthony. I just caught the end but it WAS funny. I thought so.
Noooo!Wait!!! I'm the one who says things.

They were, but I think it is too early. Like it's been said, WJFK has a history of giving shows a chance in different slots (The Sports Junkies) or if they have continually low ratings (G. Gordon Liddy). I think it's a given O'Reilly would be dumped first and R&F tried in that spot before they were dumped themselves.

There is no legitmate "105.5" station in DC.
Could it be that the caller was talking about the Baltimore radio station "105.7" and maybe mis-spoke, or Paul201 remembered it wrong - lord knows I've gotten details wrong before?
It has been rumored for MONTHS that R&F would be put on "105 Live." It is Infinity owned, runs Stern in the AM and it runs Don and Mike in the afternoon, and is in desperate need of a good evening show - it syndicates 'Lickass."
The only problem is their locally produced mid-day show ("Bill and Thrill") is a popular fit between Stern and D&M, and maybe the powers that be are waiting to see where R&F ultimately are - either they take over the mid-days in DC, or Bill and Thrill are imported into DC and R&F are exported to Balmer in the evenings, making the two stations almost identical.
A promotion for them would be to get the mid-day spot in DC, however the best chance of starting their own syndication would be to stay on in the evenings, and go into Baltimore.

Ron said management had a phone call with their agents two weeks ago, and the agent has not told not relayed them the news yet.
