i was in the process of becoming a sheriff and guess what- of all the tests- i fail the psychological test last week. i can appeal once i get the letter but why me? if i failed the test, shouldn't i be in a hospital or something? i am not psycho. my lifesuxs

2. Shecky; Reno-911! = funniest show on TV, in my opinion, Lt. Dangle RULES!!!

3. I don't do psychological testing, but I know how you can fail one: Inconsistency of answers.

Often, a psychological battery will have a LOT of multiple choice and yes/no questions. Often, several questions are very similar, if not identical, or exactly the reverse. They are looking for consistency of answers here, more then whether it is 'correct' or 'incorrect'.

Ditto with specific question areas. Many psychological questions are situation specific: 'You see a person walking down the street staggering...' and lets say the question answers deal with, lets say, Suspicious Persons, I don't know. However you answer here may be compared to other questions that also had to do with dealing with Suspicious Persons.

Again, the above example, as I look back, stinks, but maybe you get my drift. I have scored for some of the Big Scorers, and they look for SO much more then whther the answers are 'correct'. Consistency of answer plays a big factor on whether we say a person 'grasps and/or has a knowledge of' the topic at hand.
