Released today. Anyone buy this thing?
I was talking to a guy who works at EBX near me on Sunday, and he said their store had 1 preorder. He had one already and said it was pretty good, but I just don't see this system having any longevity.

I've heard EB had 500 preorders nationwide.
Which is pathetic, considering some systems/games have that many preorders between 3-5 stores.
Let's see, a machine that has Ps1-kinda quality games, most of the games have NO MUSIC, you have to take out the battery to change it, it has load times, it takes almost a minute for the game to first fire up, the button layout blows, and it's dependent on a battery that'll probably work for a few hours.
sounds fantastic

Full consoles preorders were about 300-400 hundred a store for PS2, GCN and XBox in the EB chain.
PS1 graphics in a handheld I'm down with. And when I commuted by bus last year, I would play my GBA without sound, so that doesn't bother me much.
I haven't had a chance to actually play one, so I can't comment on buttons, but I have enough probs with the java based cell phone games I play on my phone now.
And what's the difference if you have to turn your phone off or GBA off to switch games? I don't know how cumbersome it is to put it under the battery because, again, I haven't played one.

I'd rather wait and get the Playstation handheld when it comes out.

so lets see... $300 for a game phone. $50 for each game. why cant i just play games (free, or $1-$3) on my real phone which was $100 and actually looks like a phone? besides the games on my phone have sound and i dont care what the graphics look like. i just see it as a waste of money. and after my experience with a different nokia product i doubt i would trust the reliability of the n-gage.
