Interesting casting for Christopher Nolan's installment. Dennis Quaid as a young Commissioner Gordon, and what I think is a great piece of casting, John Malkovich as Ra's Al Ghul. Of course this is rumor only and from a questionable source, but it's fun to speculate. Even if it's not true, I think they should seriously look to Malkovich for that role.

I like Quaid as Gordon, although some people I've talked to think he may be too young (which kind of perplexes me, as he's at least in his mid-40s, right?).

Malkovich isn't my first choice to play Ghul, but I can seem him pulling it off.

I must say, though, Bellucci as Talia is EXCELLENT casting. Kudos to Hoojibs for thinking of her.

I can definitely see Chrisitan Bale as Batman. He has a great dark mystique about him. Quaid as Gordon qould definitely be interesting. If anyone were to play Ra's Al Ghoul, I would pick Sir Ian McKellan. The man is perfect for it. I just hoep it wouldn't typecast him as an "old evil villian" which did not happen when he did the X-Men movies. Monica Bellucci is perfect for Thalia.

I've heard however that one possible villian is going to be Scarecrow. If this is to be a re-done script of Batman: The Frightening, which originally had Scarecrow as the villian, Malchovich would be a great Scarecrow only because he scares the crap out of me.

McKellan is too old. I think Ras shouldn't be any older than his 50s. He's supposed to be immortal, you don't want someone who's too old.

I think John Malcovich would make a good Ra's. I think Gary Oldman could have done it too.

Any word of a Robin?

Is this movie somewhat of a prequel or seperate? If they are saying Dennis Quaid is a young Commish.

No Robin.

Thank God. I didn't like the idea of Robin. If all of the Batman films were done in the dark way they should have been done, then Robin could have been done right. I don't know how it could have been done right, but I'm sure Tim Burton would have found a way, had he introduced Robin in the second film, like he originally planned with the whole "Psycho Circus" that the Penguin took under control.

Ron mention the Frank Miller series 'The Return of the Dark Knight' it was a four part series, not like a regular comic, this was glossy and with a spince like a very thin paperback book. Wonderful!

I don't collect comics. But when this series came out, he would not take no for an answer, he said you WILL buy these. And I did. And I still have them. Fantastic! [IMHO] [And his subsequent 'Year One' series, these are literally the only comics I own.]

I'd like to see that made into a film. But there's a Robin [female? introduced in part 3? it's been a while] and Superman shows up but in what I think is the Coolest way, No spoliers here; it's worth checking out.

Casting? Oops. Hope I didn't de-rail the thread.

ALSO: I don't know which is the 'true' Batman, but for Me? He's so dark He's also a Villain. I think the first movie got off to a good start, but next thing, I dont know... ugh...these threads... AAarrrgghh!!!!

then teach, i suggest u invest some money and time and look for the daredevil 'born again' series, these are other frank miller works and i think his best work (but im a big marvel fan.) also check out the 'marvels' series by kurt busiek. he recounts some classic moments in marvel history, like the human torch fighting namor , or the death of gwen stacey. but he takes an interesting approach by telling all these stories as if he were simply a photographer witnessing and capturing these events as they happen. seriously good stuff. i think its a 5 issue series.

My pick for Ra's Al Ghul: Gary Oldham. That sick bastard always cracks me up.

I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.
