Not sure how new of a story this is because I just read about it.
I dont agree with the suit. The situation is unfortunate but its not the NFL's fault.
Family Sues NFL (http://www.wftv.com/news/2546148/detail.html)
I have balls !!!
Put together a grieving family and a scumbag lawyer and you get this. The drunk fan don't have money, but the NFL sure does, and the fucking lawyer doesn't care how much he has to lie and how much he has to exploit this family to get it.

Thats totally true.
What the truth is, and its tough for people to hear, is that just because you had a tragedy thown upon you, in no moral code does it say that you should get any money.
Unfortunately this girl may never walk again which is horrible, but is getting 10 million dollars from the NFL going to make that better no ?
Its different when you find a corporation to have been grossly negligent.
This is baseless.
I have balls !!!
i thinks thats stupid

I hate humanity.
Fucked up shit happens all the goddamn time. If people weren't fucking obsessed with money, maybe we could start placing the blame where it belongs and pretend that we live in a society where people are held responsible for their actions so that every fucking thing we do doesn't have to be dictated by laws, legislation, and corporate liabilities.

I just saw a story about this on the news and I am sickened. They actually carted this poor girl out in front of the cameras. Then the attorney said that the drunk driver was also a "victim." Yeah, we'll see how much of a victim he is when this shitty lawsuit is thrown out and he's your only source of cash.
These ridiculous lawsuits get worse and worse with so much regularity that is no longer surprising, but still completely astounding.

Hmmmm . . . A bar is liable for its patrons, right? (meaning if someone drives drunk, the bar can be sued)
in this case, the arena is acting as a "bar"
But it's not the NFL that would be liable; it's Giants Stadium. If they're gonna serve beer, they have to make sure that people drink responsibly.
i know at baseball games they don't serve beer after the 7th inning, do they do something like that at football games?

You are correct, sir. Once upon a time judges would throw out cases like this.

I haven't been to Giants Stadium in quite a while, but I believe they stop serving sfter the first half. But that really isn't the contention of this lawsuit. Here it is, straight from the mouth of Queen Cuntbag: "Giants Stadium opens four hours before a game. Why? So people can tailgate. The notion of the game is, if you're drunk, you're going to have a good time. Then you leave in your car and drive home."

But shouldnt they be suing Giants Stadium, or the Giants not the NFL, the NFL is not the 'bar' in this situation. though if they get money by using this argument, im going to blame u Hippie.
and the idea that u 'must' get drunk to enjoy the games hold no water. kids love football, they enjoy it and their not drunk. i love football and i barely drink.

Wasn't there a case sometime ago that a family was sued for supplying alcohol to a person present at the family's party who got drunk and was in a car accident after the party. (I don't remember if the drunk driver hit someone and the victim sued the family or if the drunk driver sued the family)
(Place YOUR AD here) Call now!
Call me crazy, but I believe that if a person is of the legal age to purchase a legal product it is solely that individual's responsibility as to how he uses said product.
If I go buy a bottle of aspirin at the local CVS and OD on it, can my family sue them? Insane.

I just read that the NFL requires the stadiums to stop selling beer after the 3rd quarter.
Giants stadium actually stops at hlftime though.
Supposedly the drunk guy in this case slipped a vendor 10 bucks and got like 6 beers after the cutoff time.
His BAC was something like .29.
The iss ue is that he shouldnt have driven period.
It has nothing to do with the NFL.

These scumbag lawyers will do anything for a buck.
I hate seeing these stupid fucks on tv or in the papers shifting the blame on everyone else who has the money and not keeping it on the person responsible.
Always remeber the Man In Black.

and if it pertains to asprin, it must pertain to alcohol. The beers we're bought one at a time, alcohol impairs your judgement, and you need a special license in order to serve it. the license is the key, it implies that you are a responsible vendor, and will not sell to a drunk fuck who's gonna get in a car and kill others.

There you go. that's the evidence they need, but its Giants' stadiums fault. they can lose their liquor license for this.

YES! People are responsible for their own actions. I wish these judges would start holding people accountable.

its not the judge, its the scumbag lawyer. the lawyer knows that the guy has no money compared to the nfl, so y sue someone hwo doenst pay well? thats what is running through the lawyers head. i bet most judges think all these lawsuits are bullshit and just fill the courts with clutter.

everyone will ignore that because it makes sense, yet people aren't willing to fight for change.

aspirin was a bad example, but the point was valid. Try it again with Percoset, Vicodin, nyQuil, etc.
And just because they stop selling at the half doesn't mean people stop drinking. I go to Yankee Stadium quite a bit, and even though beer sales stop after the 7th doesn't mean people stop drinking. There's a 4 beer per person per purchase limit. If you go up and buy them in the 7th, you can hold on to enough beer to keep drinking past the end of the game.
