View Full Version : Employment Agencies
I've been looking for a job with absolutely no luck. I've sunk so low as to consider employment agencies or even.. shudder... a temp agency. Does anybody know any good ones? Searching on the internet has produced diddly-squat.

It depends what profession you are in. Michael Page is excellent for people in the finance/banking industry

I use Monster and HotJobs, I get lots of calls for interviews, though not a lot of good prospects.

I have to use temp agencies. It sucks being a temp, but its better than being unemployed. I suggest using 3 or 4 at the same time, they expect it.

I am sure you can search the NJ unemployment database on line, if not, go to one of their field offices. I know in VA you can search the private industry database, and the state government database all online. Good luck

wow i temped a couple of times; you know those stupid desk name things? christ what do you call them, ya know, its a black strip of plastic with white plastic under, and I temped once and for a week did nothing but use the machine that engraves the names to make a few zillion of those.
Wow, that was mindless. Made Office Space type-work seem exciting.

I used craigslist.org. It's where all the "hip and trendy" places advertise.
For agencies, just pick up a sunday NY Times.
