Deer Invades New Jersey Store

A full-grown, antlered deer wandered into a Linden clothing store yesterday and, like the proverbial bull in a china shop, wreaked havoc on the place.

The buck walked past the outdoor clearance racks at Planet Kidz through the open front door sometime between noon and 1 p.m. A few customers were inside at the time but "they didn't stay," said Jennie Smith, one of the managers.

The deer trotted down the center aisle of the 10,000 square-foot store before picking up its pace, said head manager Joseph Velelis. That's when the displays started to topple and the shelving started to fly.
