So lets say I decide to become Mayor of New York or President of the United states and I somehow win due to a computer error. A couple of months later I get sworn in. And since I dont belive in God, what book would be used to swear me in? All the Presidents and Mayors get sworn in by the Bible, but its meaning is nothing to me.

do they actually use the original bible?, no that would be impossible. they use a copy.

interestingly enough, a president can request to use george washington's bible to be sworn in on. it;s been done for 15 of the 42.
