Medics warning - don't eat slugs

Doctors have warned Australians not to eat slugs.

The warning came after a Sydney student contracted a potentially deadly form of meningitis after eating a slug for a $20 bet.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that his friend also ate one but escaped the illness because he made himself vomit.
