Right the fuck on, Cash! I LOVE this album! I think I posted it in one of the many "albums you're looking forward to" threads a few weeks back.
This is actually already their second album in less than two years, and they've managed to put out a sophomore disc that's even more brilliant than the first. This new one is much more "organic" than the first (The debut had a lot of samples and stuff...and that fits given that they were on Mo' Wax, DJ Shadow's old label), but the sound is much more textured and complex than a band like Coldplay. I reccomend it to anyone who simply likes beautiful music, period.
AND, if you like South, you'll probably LOVE another British band called Elbow. They've got one album out...

And another that came out already in the UK but not here until January...

I canNOT say enough about this band, especially the second album.
And if you like really good British guitar rock, go back about a year and get the last release by this Scottish band, Idlewild...

I only heard of South after I saw them come through DC with Elbow as their opening act over a year ago. It was at the 9:30 Club, maybe 200 people there at best, and the lead singer of Elbow had the flu, so they actually played first and just did about 45 minutes. South stepped up and played a monstrously good almost-two hours set as the headliner. Been a fan ever since.
