I know there must be other NY area people that have to listen to sports talk radio now, since it is the only talk in town. I have found myself asking this question every day.
Sure, Francesa is an egomaniac and thinks he is royalty because he knows what Parcells asshole tastes like, but Kay is giving him a run for his money. I think Kay must be one of the biggest jerkoffs on 2 legs(fuck it, one of the biggest on 1-4 legs) . He likes to come across like a tough guy, yeah all the tough guys I know became sports reporters. He also thinks he is a Yankee. Kind of reminds me of the dudes in college who managed the basketball team. Dickhead, your NOT on the team , you just wash the shit stains out of their jocks.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

I personally can't stand either one of them anymore. I do think that Mike is a little smarter than Kay though.

francesa is smug (never too condescending), but he has been around enough to pull it off ....
kay is swinging for the porch, and somehow feels the need to come off as didactic and bombastic -- i really enjoyed him as the play by play on WABC, can tolerate hime on YES and loathe him as a talkshow host

Mike Francesa at least seems to be able to be impartial, whereas Michael Kay is an all out Yankee-cock sucker. Kay definitely annoys me more and I listen to Mike and Chris, but I still think Mike comes off as more arrogant, but not necessarilly a bad arrogance.

Frencesa, hands down. The man cannot be wrong.
Example:
Mike: Are you telling me you thought Florida had a chance i this series down 2-1?
Caller: I thought the Yankees were in a good position but I didnt think the series was over yet
Mike: Well then youre an idiot, nobody thought Florida had a chance.

Has anyone heard their little tiff lately. It sounds like Kay trying to get them to talk about him. His homerun signature is stolen from Ron and Fez.

I listened to a lot of sports radio while I was in NY. I don't miss either of those clowns. And I certainly don't miss that marble-mouthed, organ-grinder monkey Chris "MadDog" Russo.

Michael Kay is a great media person. He has wrote, he's done tv, and he's done radio. I like Kay better then Francesa.

Ron and Fez were the last hosts purged from the WNEW-FM hot talk era, and ever since they left their fans have been trying to get some station to bring them back to town.

I watch Mike and the Maddog on YES, and I also listen, but I love the way Chris purposly neglects to mention Kay. "thanks to all the yankee guys here at YES..." and he mentions everyone but Kay.

Mike Francesa and the Mad Dog are more arrogant. I hate them, I hate their show, and refuse to listen anymore.
The reason I don't like them is...
It was this past summer (June or July) and Mad Dog told some caller to not call back with anything about the Mets this year. That they were done, and they would only be talking about the Yankees for the rest of the season. Now, I know that the Mets really were terrible this year, but, it's a NEW YORK SPORTS STATION!!!!!! Sorry to inform the Yankee fans and Mike Francesa and the Mad Dog, but there are TWO baseball teams in NY.
So, I switched to ESPN and I'm much happier for it.
PS I knew that the Marlins could win the series from being down 2 - 1, and if he didn't, then he's a freakin moron.

Micheal Kay?
Arrogant, maybe. Holier than thou, probably. Stubborn, definately.
But a damn entertaining show, nevertheless. Especially in the past month or so. I could Never listen to Chris and Mike for too long, but I'm addicted to Kay's show, along with Matthews and Keegan in the afternoon drive.

please, please, PLEASE tell me you are neither serious nor that ignorant...

I like listening to Mike & Chris talk football & baseball...but now that the first basketball of the season has been tipped, I'll go back to listening only on Mondays & Fridays after 5 (that's how I found O&A to begin with). That's the only time I know they'll be talking about football & I can steer clear of hearing about "Watwell Spweewell" and the Knicks (and, yes, I know he's gone from the team, but basketball talk just drives me nuts).
But I will never listen to Michael Kay do sportstalk radio. I loved him with Sterling as the lovable homers on Yankee radio, but even as a die-hard Yanks fan, they were a little too much to take at times...I can't imagine how much fans of other teams must have loathed that duo. And based mainly on listening to he & Sterling during Yankee rain delays, I could never listen to Michael Kay alone. I listened to that man take calls from fans who told him that they loved him, which he naturally took gratefully. But then when they dared disagree with his ideas about how a situation was handled in a game, a roster move, potential trade...this pompous ass would rip into these people like they had raped his mother or punched his sister. His arrogance is without equal & his sickenly sweet schtick makes my sphincter pucker.
