Does anyone let music make up your minds about who they like or who you want to run the country? Or do you feel that its stupid and they should shut up.

http://members.aol.com/thetoddsterlsp/sigpics/keithbobeefy1.gif

Ron and Fez were the last hosts purged from the WNEW-FM hot talk era, and ever since they left their fans have been trying to get some station to bring them back to town.

I remember in 96 the Cyprus Hill front man said "Don't vote for Bob Dole" on some MTV show after a song.

I didn't.

first off, JFK, need i say more about the cheating part.

the enlightened HS kid is gonna explain how clinton sucked. being our current state, how could you even think that clinton was bad.
and i dont mean the attack, that was happening regardless. but as far as the no conflict decisions, Bush's cant compare to the quality of clintons. and you know so well cause you were like 2 when he was first elected

I think it's stupid to let the bands you listen to decide who you vote for. As well as the clothes you wear or friends you hang around. But Keith, you let the your politics decide what bands you listen to. Thats just as dumb as letting music decide your politics.

better than a guy who is a Rep but cuts taxes when he knew the country needed the money. when else will you ever hear people say dont cut taxes. but we said that too him cause we knew we couldnt afford it. then he does it anyway, and then spends sick amounts on a war, we could barely afford the initial cut. missmanagement is worse then a guy who smoked weed but ran the homeland correctly

And the coke thing. Come on, that was a youthful indiscretion. He doesn't do that anymore and will put anyone who does it now in jail for life.

As I said in the other thread, letting bands tell you who to vote for is stupid when you know you're smarter than said band members. I don't really know about when someone is actually stupider than the band members telling them to vote for somebody. I guess then it's almost as if the band is bringing politics to their fans. That might not be so bad. Unless of course the band says to vote Republican :)

Who lets music decide who you vote for?
Toby Keith fans. Shock and Y'all, muthafuckas!!

i don't let anyone make up my mind other than myself. However, I do often draw empowerment from the music that I listen to. But there's a difference between using outside influences to fuel your choices and using it to steer them.

I don't let Toby Keith tell me what to think.

I don't let Rage Against The Machine do it either.

Quickest way for an artist to get me to chuck their music out a window is to write a song emphasizing their particular political world-view.

So Se7en doesn't let his music decide who he votes for...but he lets politics decide who he listens to...

you know I can agree with Mojo. I can't imagine how I would vote if Gore had gotten into office and had a choice of him or a Republican (unless of course that Republican was McCain, in which case the world might've been a better place). At least with Bush in office I might be able to vote for a true liberal Democrat.

and maybe because Jon is voting Green he may not care whether or not Bush gets into office. If I'm faced with a Gephardt/Lieberman v. Bush election, I'm certainly voting for a third party, be that Green, Socialist, or other.
